Introduction
VARK began in 1987. The word VARK stands for different strategies of learning such as visual, aural, reading/writing and kinesthetic strategies. The VARK questionnaire alerts people about the variety of different approaches to learning, using VARK a person must understand that the questionnaire (Fleming, 2012). VARK very much supports individuals, who have been having difficulties with their learning, and particular applications in business, education, training, etc (Fleming, 2012). "VARK is a questionnaire that provides users with a profile of their learning preferences. These preferences are about the ways that they want to take-in and give-out information'' (Fleming, 2012). VARK helps the people to understand their weak and strong preferences of learning. If a student can explore his/her weak preference and can improve using VARK, it is very much appreciative (Fleming, 2012).
Learning styles
First step of f learning is self-assessment (Federwisch, 2010). It is better to understand ourselves as a leaner and evaluate the way to learn. Its main benefit is to get you to think about yourself, to consider learning alternatives; not to rigidly classify you ("Learning style inventory," ). The definition of learning style is simply the way in which a learner prefers to learn. That does not mean that they can’t learn other ways. It just means they have a tendency to like to learn in a certain way” (Federwisch, 2010). With the help of VARK questionnaire, we can assess a student's learning style (Fleming, 2012). As a strong aural (hearing) learner, the student does follow some aural methods of learning and can apply some methods of following in order to improve the learning ability (Fleming, 2012). It does not matter what is the preferred learning style is, a nurse always has to continually challenge themselves (Federwisch, 2010).
