One cannot take the system seriously and attempt to correct their actions if it seems that their actions are only being encouraged and welcomed, due to the fact that we are turning a blind eye. If a zero tolerance agreement is not enforced this will only reinforce the negative behaviors of the members of the Very Bad Biker Club. They will continue to disregard the rules and …show more content…
regulations specified in their contracts (Johnson, Burton, Marquait, & Cuvelier).

During the parole period, the parolee is required to comply with certain terms and conditions. Since the parole period is a test to determine if the paroled individual was ready to re-enter society, failure to comply with these terms and conditions can have serious consequences. Violations of the conditions include maintaining or attempt to maintain steady employment; continue on any educational track they have begun; report regularly to a parole officer; notify their parole officer of any change of address; refrain from possessing, using or administering controlled substances; refrain from possession or control of a firearm or any defensive or deadly weapons; refrain from corresponding with anyone in a correctional facility or on parole; and waive extradition. If the members of the VBBC do not adhere to these rules they will not be able to rehabilitate themselves. Recidivism will occur and the cycle of drugs and violence will continue to spread and get worse (Johnson, Burton, Marquait, & Cuvelier).

It is no secret that Robert “Buddy” Pole, the “president” of the VBBC, is on parole.
He has violated many of the aforementioned violations by continuing to orchestrate the criminal enterprise that is VBBC, associating with known criminals, and carrying a concealed weapon. Mr. Poole is currently in the Virtual Detention Center awaiting trial for, violation of his parole agreement. The bail of Mr. Poole is quite affordable. However bail has yet to be posted. This has the criminal justice system on alert. It is believed that Mr. Poole has been trying to organize a drug network within the jail. More in depth actions need to be taken immediately. If not then prison will become another avenue for Mr. Poole to administer/distribute
drugs. The mission of the parole officer was to promote public safety and positive offender change through effective supervision, programs and services (Collaborative Justice). The officer has failed to comply with these responsibilities. He will be dismissed effective immediately. The officer assigned does not take his job serious enough to remain committed to said offender to enforce his probationary stipulations. Someone who actually takes their job seriously we take his/her place. If action is not taken the public safety will remain at risk with the VBBC being able to carry on with their illegal activities without any consequences.
Probable cause for Mr. Poole’s arrestment had already been established. There are 63 additional members of the VBBC who are in violation of the law. Probable cause has been establishes to link the member of the crew to conspiracy to manufacture illegal drugs, conspiracy to sell illegal drugs, and participation in a criminal enterprise (Collaborative Justice). Why are we just sitting on this evidence? We need to move forth and make an actual effort of ridding our streets of these criminals. All information needs to be turned over to the prosecution to obtain arrestment and secure a conviction. After arrestment has occurred the evidence will speak for itself. The prosecutor will be able to take these members down and cause disbursement of the organization. If we don’t move forward with the evidence then probable cause will not be established and the VBBC will continue to run amuck and wreak havoc on the Virtual community a trial will not be able to be established. Since Mr. Pole enjoys his jail time, he would feel comfortable in us making jail his home, away from home. Being the ring leader, he needs to be brought down. This will assist with breaking up the organization. If we can’t get a conviction, then we will not be able to have Mr. .Poole placed in Category A prison. Category A is reserved for criminals who are the highest risk to the general public. It’s no secret that the VBBC has a network of members in jail, in prison, on parole in the community and free on the street .Category A prison is a great precautionary measure to assist with stopping the spread of drugs onto our streets. Isolate him to prevent him from launching a criminal empire from behind bars. For the time being we need ensure that the prison that contains Mr. Poole is fool proof when it comes to security. If Mr. Poole is not transferred to a Category A prison, there will be no hope of ridding the city of the VBBC and their activities of illegality.
