My primary choice would be to receive enough education to primarily be a veterinarian, along with this job I realize that there will be times where I might have to help out behind the desk (i.e. office manager), but I would much rather be a full time veterinarian. To become a vet I will need to take two years of pre-veterinary courses or I will need to go through a 4-5 year university program to achieve my veterinarian medicine degree. This 4-5 year veterinary medicine program is available at the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island. I will then need to apply for my provisional license, after this I can decide if I want to go back to school and do a post-graduate study. This study would help me get more jobs in the research area.

A great veterinarian has great communication skills, I believe I have excellent communication skills because I did a lot of public speaking in 4-H! Also, another quality of a great vet is compassion towards animals, I believe I have quite a bit of compassion towards animals, I am constantly doing something with animals, whether it's playing with my dog, helping out on my farm or horseback riding. I have also improved on my customer service skills, have improved these skill by working at Vacationland RV Park and Campground over the summer, I plan on continuing with this job until I am out of university so I believe this will really improve my skills. As well, I would like to continue my volunteering at the Humane Society, I believe this will also help my customer service
