in a place or situation that is separate from others. Because Victor Frankenstein was so obsessed with creating life, he became isolated from the world around him, causing him to create a life that he soon regrets.
In the short passage above, Frankenstein was isolated for months away from his family and friends. He described the season to be “a most beautiful season” and used words such as “plentiful” and “luxuriant” to describe the beautiful summer scene. Not only do these descriptive words define a summer that is stunning, they also describes something that has grown. In this case, a harvest and vines had grown immensely. The purpose of the vivid description of nature during the summer, was to accompany the work that Victor Frankenstein was doing, which was creating life. Just like Frankenstein had to bring together different body parts to create a human being, harvests and vine had to be grown with the help of water and sunlight.
