A spring and summer Collection, is released in the early February. There are also several important dates on Victoria’s Secret merchandising calendar. Firstly, their famously known fashion show, will take place in November this year which will showcase their latest and greatest items. Valentines’s Day, Halloween and winter holiday season are the three most important occasions as the company will releases its special collections during the all three holidays. Lastly is the Semi-Annual Sale, which happens twice a year before the release of new collections. This is a smart way for Victoria’s Secret to get rid of the excess merchandise (Clark, L. & Lutz-Tyeite, M., 2011). However, this strategy will become effective provided that the store has the right merchandise mix in terms of varieties, colours, assortment, and support to satisfy their target customers. Another challenge of using this method is changes in customer taste is influenced by the fast movement in the industry, Victoria secret need to at least be one year ahead and sharp in determining the right merchandise.
