OPINION ESSAY
Task
You are required to create an opinion essay outline on one of the suggested topics given.
Instructions
1. Write your opinion essay outline based on ONE of the suggested titles below.
2. Use the given TEMPLATE to write your essay outline.
3. Your OUTLINE for the essay should be written in full sentences.
4. Your assignment should only be HANDWRITTEN.
5. Your essay outline should contain at least 600-850 words.
6. Your essay outline should be divided into 5 paragraphs; 1 introduction paragraph, 3 body paragraphs and 1 conclusion paragraph.
7. The introduction paragraph should consist of a brief introduction and explanation of the topic or general statements (you may include figures/statistics/ findings/ etc..), a sentence showing your STAND or OPINION on the topic and the THESIS STATEMENT.
8. Each of your body paragraph should have a relevant TOPIC SENTENCE that further explains your thesis statement, several supporting sentences that explains your topic sentence and a concluding sentence (optional).
9. Support your opinion with relevant explanation and appropriate examples. Use citations (optional) to enhance your stand or opinion. *Usage of citations requires proper referencing at the end.
10. Your conclusion paragraph should include a summary of the main points/ paraphrased restatement of your thesis statement and your final comment on the subject ideally asserting your opinion.
11. This assignment is DUE in WEEK 10.
12. Submit together with Writing Assignment PART 1 as part of the Writing Assignment portfolio.

5. Technology is making communication easier in today’s world, but many believe it is at the expense of personal contact as many people chose to study or work at home in front of a computer screen. What do you think of a society that depends on computer screens rather than face- to- face contact for its main means of communication?
The Writing Process
i. Brainstorm for ideas/points according to your chosen topic.
ii. Develop the thesis statement, topic sentences, supporting sentence and other details. Connect your ideas into coherent sentences and expand the sentences to include specific details. Use appropriate transitional words (e.g.: Therefore, Moreover, In addition, Firstly, In short etc.)
iii. Prepare an outline in complete sentences (using the template given below).
iv. Thoroughly revise your essay outline for coherence, relevance, unity and language use.
v. The essay outline should be submitted together with the Writing Assignment portfolio.
