Vietnam was a French colony but after its invasion by Japan during the world war II Vietnam started to look for its independence however France had not the same project for it and return in Vietnam in the aim of controlling it again but it became difficult because a communist party had been installed and it was receiving help with the other communist countries like china and Soviet Union.
At the same time United State saw in communism a great menace to the world and decided to eradicate wherever it was possible, this was on this principle that US found itself involved in the Vietnam war. United State was afraid that all the South East Asia became communist and that later it gain the entire non-communist world. United State started by giving his support financial and military support to France.

During the ‘colonial period, the plantation economy was developed but the French clearly ignored the civil rights of the Vietnamese and continued to exploit the land and people. Therefore seeing the misery of this nation, made some people react, then the Nationalist political movement was created with leaders such as Phan Boi Chau, Phan chu Trinh, Phan Dinh Phuang, Emperor Ham Nghi and Ho Chi Minh, they fought for independence of Vietnam. France continued to ignored their calling and Vietnam remained under French control until World War II,
