The same process happens with DVD's, but the vinyl quality is actually better because it is raw analog and does not lose the sound quality that the CD and DVD do. Therefore, today, if there were only vinyls along with the high-tech speaker systems, the sound would be closer to the original recording.

The recording industry is aware of the problem and has a new technique for improving quality on both the CD's and DVD's. The focus however, is on the DVD quality, but they are called DVD audio discs, which are difficult to find and then you need to have a DVD audio player. These will become more popular in the future and become the standard for how we listen to music.

As it stand right now, vinyl record quality is better than CD's when analog is compared side-by-side, but the world it not going back to vinyl because there were definitely some major disadvantages to music records. These included the size, non-portability, and the delicate nature of the records. In addition, the industry will continue to make advances with the way in which is converts digital recordings to the CD or DVD's, which ultimately will make the sound quality as good or better than record

“The way records were sold was completely ridiculous. The covers were brown, tan or green paper; they were not in the least bit attractive, and lacked any form of sales appeal” – these are the words of Alex Steinweiss, the creator of album artwork, way back in 1939. Before Steinweiss’ revolutionary creation, there was quite simply no such thing as an album cover; vinyl recordings were available to buy in the back of appliance stores, where one would enquire for the particular title of a recording and were it in stock, would receive it in brown paper packaging, which was commonplace for all records at the time – possibly reflecting the fact that sales of records at this time in history were neither impressive or significant, instantly suggesting…

However, they are not required, but suggested. There are no major consequences currently for not having labels on music. "Now the PMRC has moved into the world of video, complaining about television, home video and MTV" (Zappa,1989.) Currently there are not many mainstream organizations that have intentions like the PMRC. Most of the groups that permute censorship are a much smaller scale. It is not likely for them to gain any national status. These groups are unlikely to gain following because many musicians today make different versions of their record. These records come in a "clean" version with less obscenities and the regular version, including all obscenities. This is logical on behalf of the musicians. It is a large step forward in preventing anything like the PMRC happening again. Also, the different versions of records please the people who would be against…
