Violent Video Games Cause Violence Essay
Can video games be to blame for all this violence in adolescents. This debate has been going on since 1993 when the first violent video games were released. Since then, more violent video games have been released and the argument still continues with no actual hard evidence to either side. The reason no actual evidence has been found is because so many factors play into it the situation. Although the little evidence found leans more towards the side of it has nothing to do with violent acts.
Video games are one of the main causes of violence in adolescences today. They introduce them to harsh langue, bloody, and gory violence. Which makes them think its alright to use vulgar langue and be violent towards others. Which proves my next point in which all the people who have been shooters played violent video games.
Video games aid adolescents in the development of vital skills needed throughout life. One important element in gaming is teamwork, which requires communication. Being able to connect and talk with the team is beneficial, although listening to them is just as vital. Without

In order for them to win they must look at the picture as a whole. This requires gamers to aid one another; whether its healing them, giving them support, a ride, or even ammo. When everybody pitches into the team, they will be able to tackle any task. Once everybody is willing to work with one another the team will need to come up with a strategy to beat the enemy team. Provided strategies require critical thinking and looking at every possible scenario. Another beneficial skill is putting your self in others shoes. For instant some games require the player to hide from the other team, so the team looking for them is required to think "if I was hiding where would I be." In addition to looking for people it also aid in how other players are feeling. All these things require people to look at the bigger

    Does playing a video game make you prone to commit real-life violence? This question has been an issue since the very early 90's when violent games like Doom and Wolfenstein were released, but only in the last half a decade or so (mainly since the incident at Columbine, Colorado, 1999 – when it was revealed that the teenage shooters were avid video game players) has it really come to the majority's attention. The key issue that both sides can't agree on is whether people should be allowed to play violent games or not.     Video game violence should not be lessened in any way. MAVAV (Mothers against Video Game Addiction and Violence) and other parents feel as though there is now too much violence in video games. They state, "video game companies continue to market violence aimed at vulnerable children and young teens" (MAVAV.ORG). Their children should be controlled, not the games.     Why did our forefathers come to America? Why did they risk hopping on a boat, not knowing if they would survive the voyage? What could possibly be so important to them, that they jeopardized seeing their loved ones left behind again? The answer is freedom. Land of the free, home of the brave. Some of the most infamous violent video games are the dramatic decapitations, limb removal sequences and big blood splashes which are plentiful in God of War. As well as, Dead Space, an interactive horror story, where the gamer must destroy monstrosities by any means necessary to prevent getting mauled, bitten, impaled, torn in half or eaten. None of those sound like games any real parent would allow their child to play. But, we are the ones raising our children and not a politician, news corporation or much less some stranger. We are the ones that get to tell our kids, “no means no!” Some non-gaming adults claim people engaging in violent video games will start to confuse fantasy and reality, they will take the violence viewed in the game and believe such behavior is acceptable in the real world. But more informed adults would counter those assertions by stating that, if the vast amount of people which play violent video games all acted out on the violence they witness in games then anarchy would reign.
