A Visual Argument of the Website: Liberty in North Korea (LiNK)

After researching the crises in North Korea, I was stuck with a very difficult question.

They have done a great job of explaining the viewers that why is it necessary to be a part of their benevolent work. The website shows us the various ways to involve with them to spread awareness and provide help like starting a fundraising campaign, being an intern called as Nomad, where you travel across the country with a team spreading awareness and showing documentaries, hosting events in the schools,
Universities etc. They have several videos in their website which creates a greater influence for us to involve with them.
The website tells about the change in North Korea happening due to the refugees who are now trying to send information and money inside through unofficial markets and foreign media.
These refugees are acting as a game changer and have sent around 10-15 million dollars last year. There is a well setup page dedicated to donate where you can donate in one click or sign up for monthly donation or fund a whole rescue. Also, they have a shopping page where we can buy T-shirt’s, Hoodies, documentary DVD’s. It says “100% of proceeds from your purchase fund our work. Consider it a

They also have a video of a refugee speaking at one of the
TED-Global conferences who was helped by LiNK. Liberty in North Korea has helped 188 refugees to escape North Korea and have helped them resettle in South Korea as well as in North
America. The website specifies about their updates and news about their progress changing
North Korea from inside.

In the website, we can book to host a screening of their documentary, in which a team from LiNK comes to our school/university, and present the documentary about North Korean refugees to people, answer any questions about their work, the organization and about guide for getting involved with them.
I recently got involved with LiNK. I hosted their latest documentary “Danny from North
Korea” in our University. It was a great experience to meet their team and spreading the word, getting to know more about North Korean humanitarian crises.

Word of mouth seems to be their best way to inform. Following this would be articles in the local newspaper, then social networking (Facebook, Twitter, etc). The in-house promotions do quite well with posters, flyers, etc. Although they spread awareness, they do not help as much to raise funds. In order to continuing running their programs, the organization is going to have to incorporate a new public relations campaign that can raise the interest of the public and gain the support that they need to keep providing these resources and programs throughout the duration of their…

At first, we will identify St Jude assets. Evaluating the asset is beneficial in attracting supporters and funders. Identifying the assets not only includes organization funds but also includes skills, people, and experience. Supporters and Funders are most interested in donating when there’s a good asset history. As we prepare to fundraise for St Jude we would make sure there aren’t any assets discrepancies. Ensure there are enough funds available to start a fundraising event. Make a list of what’s important…

Our primary audience is the Key Bridge Foundation, specifically Dana Coles and Connie Pulliam who are the co-directors of the community conferencing program at the Key Bridge Foundation. The Key Bridge Foundation is interested in helping to resolve as many student conflicts in schools as possible by having the school refer students to them and providing those students with a space to talk. This expansion requires money which the foundation obtains through donations received on their website. Surveys have shown that an organization’s mission statement is an important factor for potential donors. The Key Bridge Foundation would benefit from having a video that sells its mission to donors and makes them feel that they are contributing to something that works. Similar organizations also used two 10-minute videos to inform its visitors about its mission statement. We hope that this will help the Key Bridge Foundation reach a certain target amount in donations in order to continue providing their service and also to potentially expand to other locations. The cost of placing a video on the…

In school a child learns much more than what they are taught sitting in a classroom staring at a textbook, in school a child learns wrong from right. Through education, people are molded to fit the pattern of perfect idealism, and private life and individual freedom became extremely limited. In North Korea, a communist country, individual freedom is limited enough as it is, but in an educational environment it is even more difficult task to be able to express your individuality. In an article by Anna Fifield titled In North Korea, It's Never Too Soon to Start the Brainwashing she writes “Every home, office, classroom and even train car features portraits of the first two leaders, and the pictures must be cleaned with a special cloth every day.”…

North Korea that also known as Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is notorious with its totalitarian Stalinist dictatorship in the world. North Koreans are been considered by the outsides as a society that had been violated their basic human’s rights by its own regime. For many years since World War II, North Korea's economy has had double digit growth rates, while their citizens lived in poverty (Osborn, 1997). North Korea and South Korea have been at odds with each other for generations now. This has affected how each culture has developed from the other. North Korea is a strict communist regime, whereas South Korea is a republic. Conformity is different for each individual culture as well as social perception and cognition. What is considered conformity in one country may not be considered conformity in the other. However, in recent years there has been an attempt to reconcile the differences in the two domains. Leaders have met and tried to find ways to reconcile the tension between the two regions. The United States has intervened and as long as the communication remains open there may be some hope for some type of agreement. Furthermore, there are social perceptions that would need to be addressed before the conflict between the two groups is resolved.…
