INTRODUCTION Vitamin is one of the classes of food which needed by human being. Vitamins are organic compounds required in small amounts to maintain health and normal growth of human body. It is needed in small amounts, either in milligram or microgram because they are reused again in body metabolism. Vitamins do not produce energy and easily destroyed by heat. Vitamins are divided into two groups, water-soluble vitamins and fat-soluble vitamins. Water-soluble vitamins include vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, folic acid, H and C while fat-soluble vitamins include vitamins A, D, E, and K. Vitamin C is one of the water-soluble vitamins needed in human body for helping in the formation and maintenance of collagen, which supports body structures, bones, and teeth. This powerful vitamin provides a number of very important health benefits, and the body needs it to function well. The North American Dietary Reference Intake recommends taking 90 milligrams per day and not more than 2000 milligrams per day.
