Lucid dreaming begins. I now know without a shadow of a doubt that this is a dream. I take my fingernails and rake them across the top of my hand- seeking pain to further prove the theory. As would be expected, I feel absolutely nothing. My mother had woken up herself at this point. So I step from the bathroom and decide that I'll tell her I'm dreaming. I don't recall the exacts of the conversation, but I know I told her not to think I'm crazy, and that she was part of my dream. she laughed at first and didn't believe me- so I told her to pinch me. She gave a half-hearted squeeze of my hand. To which I said "No, actually try to hurt me. Get a bunch of skin between your fingers and really squeeze." She complied, and displayed surprise when I had no reaction. This apparently was enough to convince her I was dreaming, but took no consideration of the fact that she didn't actually exist. She simply informed me that, regardless of the fact that I'm currently asleep we had work to do in the kitchen for a family gathering taking place that
