The Vorem farm is located in Mpumalanga at Stentor near to Nkomazi plaza it produces sugarcane under irrigation systems such as drip irrigation system, dragline system, and center pivot and it consists about 921 hectares with sugarcane which is owned by TSB at Malelane. The type of varieties produced are N14, N19, N23, N25, N36, N41, N45, N49, N43. The cane that we produce is transported from the farm to TSB Malelane, The mill is a few kilometers away from the farm.

The first thing that we do before applying a weed control is identify the type of weed that has grown in our field, and identify the type of growth stages that it is in. Then pre-emergence and post- emergence herbicide are used.
The pre emergence is used when the weeds have not yet matured or emerged, then it can be applied. Post emergence herbicides are applied when the weed has already emerged or started to mature. Both these herbicides are applied under strict supervision. People who apply these herbicides must be fully protected. Herbicides are applied in dry soil, when there is no rain or wind.

In the Vorem farm soybean is planted at a rooting depth of 2,5cm deep and normally germination will take place within five to seven days after planting. The seed must be covered properly with soil and the soil must be kept moist in-order to enhance germination to take place.
HARVESTING

The pods must be brown and shatter easily when squeezed.
Soya bean must be harvested dry and early harvesting must be avoided
Is not suitable for hand harvesting, stacking or windrowing because this will result to shattering.
The recommended harvesting method for soybean is the use of a combine fitted with soya bean or wheat table
GRADING

Free from must, sour, khaki bush
Free from the grass. Metals, coal or dung
Free from pest and diseases
Free from substance that is not good for human and animal consumption
Have a moisture content that is not more than
