Voting is extremely important which is the reason why there are five amendments to the constitution that eliminate the discrimination of voters. Any citizen above the age of eighteen has a right for their voice to be heard through a vote. But not everyone takes the opportunity to vote in fact there are large correlations between socioeconomic classes and voting turn outs. In a 2008 study conducted by the US Census Bureau they concluded that the higher your income the more likely you are to vote. If you made upwards of one-hundred and fifty-thousand dollars in 2008 there was a seventy-eight percent chance that you voted. More money means more access. The importance to capture an accurate representation of the population, however; it is impossible to do so if not every socioeconomic class has equal voting
