Voting Voting is the method by which the electorate appoints its representatives in its government. It is necessary to understand the voting qualifications and the process to be a productive citizen and vote for your government.
This is some evidence I have to prove my understanding of voting. In order to vote you need to be all of the following; a US citizen, at least 18 years old, and a resident of the city or township where you are applying to register to vote. Also voter registration is very important to know. Most states require registration at least 30 days before an election. Applications can be obtained from county offices. …show more content…
Today many states make it easier by permitting online registration. States must allow registration when people renew their driver license. You cannot vote in more than one place. Also you cannot vote if you have been convicted of a felony. You vote at a polling place. A polling place is a location where voting occurs. I will use this skill for when I go to vote.
I will know how to vote and where to vote thanks to this class. Local Law Enforcement This topic is to ensure obedience to the laws. Law enforcement is necessary to understand to be a productive citizen because you should know the different levels of law enforcement and what jurisdiction they have. This is some evidence of my understanding.
Police Department- A law enforcement group for a city or town. The police only have jurisdiction inside city limits. For example, Concord police cannot pull somebody over in Huntersville.
Sheriff’s Department- Law Enforcement group for a county. The Sheriff has jurisdiction for the entire county. Ex, the sheriff can pull you over in any city of your county.
State Troopers- Responsible for patrolling state highways and interstates. They also enforce state automobile laws.

The President of the United States of America The president is the leader of the Executive branch and also a symbol of the United States of America. The President is the top political job in the country. A natural born citizen
Must have lived in the United for 14 years
Most presidents have had college education and many have been lawyers. The president serves 4 year terms and can only be re-elected once. That is some evidence of my understanding of the president.
I will use this information for Physical evidence when I run for president.

Types of Credit and Loans It is necessary to understand the types of credit because almost every single person is going to need credit sometime in their lifetime. Types of credit: += good - = bad
Home mortgage: + tends to increase in value. - Long contracts.
Car Loans: + income. - Cars drop in value quickly.
College Loans: + education= investment. - Borrow more than needed.
Personal Loans: + get money quickly. - Very high interest rate
Credit Cards: + convenient emergency - High changing rates
That is some evidence of my understanding of credit and loans. I will use this information for when I need credit or a loan. The first time I will use a loan is probably going to be a student loan for college. Physical evidence
Elections An election is a formal decision-making process by which a population chooses an individual to hold public office. It is necessary to understand elections because you need to know when to vote to elect the public officials. The general election is held on the 1st Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Candidates are the nominees from each political party running for office.
President- gets elected every 4
years
Senators- one third of the senate gets elected every 6 years
House of Representatives- elected every 2 years
That’s some evidence of my understanding about elections.
I will use this knowledge in life by being part of an election thanks to what I’ve learned in this class.
