Im not good with writing articles but im hoping that this will be easier for everyone to understand and to successfully root your devices and to understand some few stuffs. It would be better if you have some ideas about Android know-how before you continue reading this because of some terms that I will often use and may not be familliar to you.
(YOU CAN SKIP THIS IF YOU WANT TO)
Im not an expert nor a developer, I just followed how the guy from the Lava Iris 406q Rooting Thread did on how he root his device which is similar to our Cherry mobile nova 2.
=================================================================================
Firstly what is Rooting?
based on my Android Mobile experience rooting allowed me to modify a lot of things from the interface of the phone and to installing custom firmwares depending on your needs if it be for gaming or just for showing off. Theres nothing wrong being a cool guy, whatis wrong is if youdont share what you know.
What are the Disadvantages?
Since we are working on a Cherrymobile Nova 2 which is a new model and doesnt have a Stock firmware to download from incase things go wrong. There is a RISK of bricking the phone if you mistakenly messed up some system files or folders. So a good back up would be really recommended...
How to back up?
We dont have yet a confirmed working Clockworkmod recovery. So what i think the best possible way to back thru Android Terminal emulator. there will be few commands that you need to enter to back up your
boot.img recovery.img system.img
which will be saved to your sd card and I woul suggest save it to a safe place like on your Pc.
(BACKUP THROUGH ANDROID TERMINAL EMULATOR ONLY WORKS IF THE DEVICES HAS BEEN SUCCEESSFULLY ROOTED)
