W.W. Jacobs' “The Monkey’s Paw” is a scary story about how if you mess with fate it will come back to you in a horrific way. This critical analysis essay is trying to show that there are three significant things in this story, like how the paw is eerie and dark and not good-looking. It has a lot of intense and suspenseful scenes, the monkey paw has a lesson and it is also something you could get hooked on if you wanted to watch or read and those are a couple of reasons things about The Monkey's Paw. The first scene that heightens suspense occurs when the Sergeant-Major first introduces the monkey’s paw and its dark implications. The author foreshadows that the paw is not something to play around with by giving us evidence of its dangerous possibilities.

This only happened because they made that wish and that is and making that stupid wish was from the inside and when they made that wish their son died but they got compensation of 200 pounds. They only got the money because their son died so like cause and effect because their son died they got 200 pounds, the paw is trying to teach them a lesson not to mess with fate and if you do there will be consequences so the main theme of the first wish was the same as always do not mess with fate but they still did not listen. The third scene culminates in the haunting aftermath of their final wish, leaving readers to grapple with the moral complexities of their choices. So in the third scene, they are grieving that their son is dead and the wife cannot take it anymore so then she tells him “Why didn’t I think of this before going to wish our son alive again”. But the husband has complex thinking no they should not do this it could have dire consequences and he thought when they wished for something, not their son but something came to the door the husband tries to find the paw and wishes it to leave them alone and it does but one year later the mom dies. So once again the consequence of bringing their son back to life is that this thing outside is not their son and they should not let this thing in their house. So now to
