MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--The West Virginia University baseball team fell 7-2 in the series finale against Kansas on Sunday afternoon at Monongalia County Ballpark.

The Mountaineers (19-11) scored two runs on just five hits. The Jayhawks (14-17) scored seven runs on 15 hits.

Cole Austin had two hits and Darius Hill drove in both runs. Starting pitcher Kade Strowd tossed 3.2 innings, surrendering two runs on five hits while striking out four.

Sam Kessler (0-1) relieved Strowd in the fourth and pitched 2.1 innings, giving up one run on two hits.

Kansas jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Tanner Gragg singled to centerfield, scoring David Kyriacou.

The Jayhawks added another run in the third to take a 2-0 advantage.
