It was the 14th annual Wines on the Wabash wine and beer tasting event benefiting the Wabash Center.
For more than half century the center provided services and programming for kids and adults with developmental disabilities. The mission for the center is to optimize the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and special needs.
Wines on the Wabash is the largest annual fundraiser for the Wabash Center.
Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski said residents Greater Lafayette and Tippecanoe County in a whole do a great job in helping great causes like this.
"Wabash really works with some of our most vulnerable citizens," said Roswarski. "They give
them greater opportunities. All those things, improve their quality of life and that's what a community should do."
The event featured more than 100 different wines from all over the country, as well as many micro-brews and import beers.
There was also a silent auction to raise money.
Each attendee got to take home a souvenir wine glass.
