As starting working in the restaurant business, I became a manger at an early age. With my extremely hard work ethic and my ability to be a fast learner, I found myself working up the scale to a general manger of a restaurant at the age of 20. I had no college degree. In those days I believed college wouldn’t ever increase my life and that was a waste of my time. I had a nice paying salary and my living cost low.
I hit reality when I became twenty-three, when my friends were starting to finish college. Most of my friends that were broke, due to the expensive colleges starting doubling the amount of money I made in a week. My bank account looking quite petite compared to their new incomes. I became to realize that working fifty plus hours a week wasn’t going to pay off at any job. If I didn’t get s degree in college my life wasn’t going to change. I was tired of working hard not smart. This is when I realized college wasn’t a waste of time.
I started saving for community college, going back at twenty-three was a hard task but manageable, still working three jobs to keep myself on my feet I started feeling a sense of my hard work paying off. I got hired at a paid internship withtin my first year of college that opened doors to a career path I never knew possible. My total net worth after the completion of a BA will be 5x greater than that of a restaurant manager, and will double once I get a masters degree. This proving college isn’t a waste of time
