Waitrose started out as a small grocery shop in west London in 1904 by Wallace Waite, Arthur Rose and David Taylor. The John Lewis partnership acquired the business in 1937, opening the first Waitrose supermarket in 1955. There are now 280 branches, all dedicated to offering quality, value and customer service.
