WALL-E

WALL-E is a very interesting, human-like character. He posses many qualities that can relate back to the human nature. Although WALL-E is a very old and dirty robot, left to clean up the trash on Earth, he has a sense of unique traits. WALL-E is funny, caring, and most definitely hard working. However, his most interesting quality is his will to love. WALL-E shows his abilities to love many times in the movie.

At the beginning of the movie, it shows WALL-E listening to music and watching an old television show. WALL-E loves music and dancing because it doesn’t make him feel lonely. There are many times in the movie that it shows WALL-E either watching TV or listening to his music box. The music distracts him from his loneliness …show more content…
She was sent to collect anything that may be living and take it back to space. However, WALL-E found love at first sight. When Eve found plant life, she nearly shut down and waited on her ship to return and take her back to space. During this time Eve was shut down, WALL-E stayed by her side and cared for her. In the dust storm, he covered her up; during a thunderstorm, he held an umbrella over her to keep her from the rain. Doing this, WALL-E even was struck by lightning. WALL-E did a lot for Eve ever since they met during the beginning of the movie.

Throughout the whole movie, WALL-E has been obsessed and nearly in love, with the quality of love. When WALL-E and Eve first met, he tried to hold her hand. WALL-E shows that he loves love by watching the movies he watches, and the way he reacts to those movies. He is nearly fascinated with the thought of love, and is the whole movie. At the end of the movie, WALL-E was hurt and Eve fixed him, but little did Eve know, fixing him would completely change the way he felt and his feelings. However, Eve holding his hand, brought back memories of Eve and his love for her. WALL-E was in love, with love. WALL-E was a very interesting and human-like character.     A widely-renowned contemporary movie containing multiple themes of apocalyptic literature is “WALL-E”. In this movie, a futuristic dystopian society is presented in which there are no longer any humans present on Earth due to it no longer being sustainable for life. The humans have now been long-removed from Earth and now live on an enlarged spaceship named the “Axiom”, which is funded by the monopolistic company “Buy ‘n’ Large”. Over time, the passengers of the “Axiom” have become morbidly obese, as they have now spent many years having to rely on hove automated systems in order to maneuver and communicate with one another. Therefore, there are many underlying components within this movie that would qualify it as apocalyptic literature. For one, the plot of the movie is “cosmic in scope”, as it depicts the monotonous livelihoods of humans in outer space after having over-polluted the Earth to the point where it is no longer inhabitable. Its “cosmic scope” is also suggested by how manipulative of an effect mass-consumerism will have on the human population, as “Buy ‘n’ Large” holds total ownership over every product that is told to the humans, even in space. Another apocalyptic theme is the user of “satire to shape perception of reality”. In this case, the satire employed in this movie proposes a strong critique of society today by focusing on a multitude of issues such as pollution, consumerism, obesity, and technology. This can be interpreted as the director alluding to the potential “point of no return” that will transpire for humanity if we choose to not address the negative impacts society is having on our environment and well-being. Additionally, there is also a “fellowship of friends against the forces of evil” presented in this film due to the developing relationship between the two robots “WALL-E” and “EVE”.
