.
5.2. Disneyland
The first theme park of Disney was opened on July 17, 1955. It was located in Anaheim, California. The park consisted of Adventureland, Main Street, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Frontierland. The entire project cost 17 million dollars. Walt Disney had dreamed about such a theme park since he was a little child. However World War 2 started so he had to put his plans on hold for a while. He was finally able to start his plan in 1953. The whole theme Park was built in one year. On the opening day only 6000 people were invited so they could see the park before it opened to the public. However 22000 people managed to fake an invite. That was not the only thing that went wrong. There was also a heat wave going on, some fountains weren’t working, women’s shoes got stuck in asphalt because it had only been laid there the night before, and there was also a gas leak so part of the theme park wasn’t open. The day after, it opened for the public. The entrance fee was only 1 dollar. After that Disney World in Florida was opened on October 1, 1971. Right now there are five theme parks in California, Florida, Hong Kong, Paris and Tokyo. They all have their grand park, smaller park and resort hotels. The sixth is expected to be opened in 2016 and will be located in Shanghai.

Two of those trips stop at Disney’s Private Island called Castaway Cay. Castaway Cay was bought in 1996. There’s also a whole variety of activities for the visitors like snorkeling, parasailing, watercraft...
5.4. Disney Channel
The first idea of making a television channel came in 1977. The proposal was turned down but a few years later they tried again. Disney announced the channel in 1983. Disney Channel was aired for the first time on April 18, 1983 at 7 a.m. in the U.S. In the begin Disney Channel aired only from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. towards the end of 1984, they began airing 24 hours a day. Now you have Disney Channel all over the world. You could watch Disney Channel in the U.K. and Ireland from October 1, 1994. In Belgium you can watch it since September 1, 2011. Now there is also another Disney Channel called Disney XD. The channel is more for boys. It’s a replacement for the other channel, Toon Disney.
6. The audience
6.1. The reaction after first movie
The first film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, was very popular. It has been released over and over again. Walt Disney also won an Oscar in 1939 with the movie. After that he made a lot more full-length movies. Not all the films were received as well as the first one. But overall you can say that every child and parent loved this movie.
7. Conclusion
We are amazed that one man could have such an influence on the animation film industry. At this moment, so many people have grown up with those extraordinary movies. We think his death was a great loss, he achieved a lot in his short life but he could have achieved more if he lived longer. Everyone knows the most famous movies but there are also a lot of movies that also no one knows about. Right now, Disney is all over the world. Disney stores, attraction parks, etc. have made sure that wherever you go there will always be some indication of Disney. We are happy we have grown up with this movies because for us he was the man who turned are dreams into reality.
