When Americans first think of the quote by Disney, they initially think of business; the thought that people can do anything that they set their mind to and can achieve anything in this growing world. In many ways that is true. “The average person puts only 25% of his energy and ability into his work. The world takes off its hat to those who put in more than 50% of their …show more content…
capacity, and stands on its head for those few and far between souls who devote 100%.” This quote by Andrew Carnegie is a great way to support Disney’s thinking. In Disney’s quote; he is saying that people can achieve things when they dream about it. Carnegie uses that quote to say; if a person dreams about it, they better work for it. Carnegie is an ideal example of this quote, he was a Scottish immigrant who came over looking for a new start. He invested and worked hard at what he did and became the richest person in the United States; not only because he dreamed of it, but also because he worked hard to achieve that dream. Americans can do that too if they really want to work for success.
American households need to make sure that they are contributing as well.
Society doesn’t run solely on the competition of businesses. “Americans want students to get the best education possible. We want schools to prepare children to become good citizens and members of a prosperous American economy.” A quote by Bill Gates also helps support the way the American people can help in the economy. The more households that are educated on the issues of the economy, the more effective the economy will be in the future. The current generation needs to start teaching their kids how to dream and learn how to be better citizens so the businesses; and eventually the government will be run by smarter people who can run the economy better. If kids know how to become better citizens who can blend well with society, the United States will have better businesses in the future and a guaranteed better growth. Disney wants Americans to dream, if the next generation of citizens have amazing ideas, the American hope is available for
them. Not only do the future generations and businesses need to have active goals and dreams, the citizens today need to keep dreaming and hoping to accomplish their goals. “I was raised in the environment where it really wasn't about sittin' around dreaming all the time, it was about practicing and workin' really hard and if a dream ever came to you, you'd be prepared for that opportunity.” Harry Connick could not have been more right about that. The average American today is discouraged by competition and they don’t want to achieve their dreams because people are afraid that others will kill that dream. They never take the chance. In Disney’s quote, he wants people to dream, he wants people to have goals, he wants you to go and achieve that goal; the problem is, people don’t want to try and accomplish it. Many people have goals, but it is the people that work for their dreams who will accomplish them.
