Warm and Cold Vacations
What is the one thing that people always look forward to? They’re always looking forward to their next vacation period. There are many things and many different choices available to someone who is looking into vacationing. Some of the popular places for vacationers are either the nice warm beach or the cold snow filled mountains. Both places offer a fun filled variety of activities that either the beach can offer or the mountains can offer. The beach and mountains are two totally different vacation spots that offer what the other cannot. The purpose of this essay is to compare and contrast the climate, types of activities and the locations of the beach and the mountains. Climate is always important in order to enjoy vacations. Beaches offer the most important aspect of the beach is its warm climate. When you think of the beach, two words come to mind, sun and fun. The temperature in warmer climates is either hot or quite warm. The sea and the weather are determining factors on what activities are available. People are able to swim, play volleyball on the beach, and play soccer or water ski. Most coastal areas offer restaurants or clubs where people can dance or party the night away. Mexico offers amazing coastal sites such as Acapulco and Cancun, which offers amazingly beautiful and famous beaches. If a person isn’t keen on cold weather or dislikes it, they’re going to have a rough time in the mountains. Dealing with the cold weather or the humidity is a key element to overcome to be able to enjoy what is being offered in the mountains. The climate and temperature in the mountain zones are the determining factor in what activities are being offered. Snow boarding, mountain climbing, biking, hiking and skiing are some of the wonderful activities many people can enjoy while in the mountains. There are many regions where people can go have a great, fun filled vacation. Canada is a great place filled with interesting mountains and vacation sites

    Moving: North vs. South

Let’s stay up North for a while and discover all it may have to offer. The snowy climate may be ideal for some people, but it’s not for me. You have to wear a layer of long johns and jeans, sweater, coat, hat and gloves to go brave the cold. It’s a very long winter season which is cold, wet and inconvenient to travel around in. There can be days and weeks on end where you may not get a glimpse of the sun at all. People use tanning beds to get a tan. Snow storms can be common in this area. The roads can be slippery and sometimes there can be travel bans because of the danger of road conditions. You are constantly hearing snow plows going by salting the roads. When the salt melts the snow, it gets very slushy and the salt gets on your vehicles and causes them to rust. If you enjoy the cold weather, you may enjoy some of the many activities that the Northern areas have to offer. There are plenty of ski resorts that offer everything from skiing to snowboarding to tubing. Most of these lodges also offer a warm lodge to get hot chocolate or a bite to eat, and a lounge for those who may like to have a cocktail. You may prefer to go sledding or build a snow man. Some people even go winter camping and hike with snowshoes. I personally enjoy riding snowmobiles with my family and friends. There’s nothing quite like riding the trails after they have been groomed.…

(indent)Florida is known for its subtropical climate, but at night on the beach, the air becomes quite cool, like the sweltering air skated across ice before hitting your face. Temperatures are still very warm, yet the cool breeze off the coast can require you to need a light jacket at times, even in the peak of summer. It creates the most pleasing scene for strolling and losing your thoughts in the night.…

Choosing a vacation can sometimes be difficult or even overwhelming. Especially when your family can be indecisive at times, it can be so much harder. Although when we saw Hocking Hills in a brochure we knew that’s where we wanted to go. Originally, we wanted to go to North Carolina, but my parents couldn’t find any hotels. Hockings Hills had breathtaking cabins and there were lots available at low cost. So Hocking Hills is what we chose instead. Off we went, on a 2 hour and 30 min car ride to Hocking Hills. When we got there it was so beautiful I couldn’t stop running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off. I couldn’t wait to get started doing things. There was even a hot tub!…

America is a unique individual with several defining qualities. Loudness and quietness coexisting in one place is remarkable and truly beautiful. Ocean City, New Jersey is a breathtaking place, as is America. Being on the beach is what I look forward to the most while preparing for vacation. Silence envelops my body on the beach, and yet waves crash down as adults and children scream and play. The most amazing part about the shore is tanning. Not because I like to get darker, but because I feel as though the sun embraces my body and gives me warmth—it’s a sense of ease, a sense of comfort. Even on the boardwalk, there’re so many people everywhere talking, laughing, eating—but the food is a completely different story. Anyway, being on top of a ride is exhilarating, yet so serene. It’s almost as good as one of my best recollections from vacation.…
