What Henry Proposed:
Henry believed the M.A.O.A gene was the cause of his violent behavior, and believed because of this gene he was unable to control his behavior.

How I feel:
I believe a gene cannot create your behavior. I believe knowing that you have the Warrior Gene may effect your behavior. My opinion on Henry is charming, I think he is a great author but I also believe the cause of his violent behavior is his rough childhood. My opinion on Genetically Typing is critical, if used in good circumstances I am all for it. What I question is how far will they go with Genetic Typing? If resulting in finding a genetic condition or determining someone’s chance of developing, then I believe hundreds of tests should be

The teacher judged him because they assumed that he was expecting hand outs and wasn’t willing to earn his own grades. But he proved everyone wrong and used discouraging teachers as motivation to work as hard in the classroom as he did on the field.…

A gene called MAOA is associated with aggressive behaviour, it regulated the metabolism of serotonin, and additionally low levels of serotonin are associated with aggressive and impulsive behaviour. A study from a Dutch family with a history of violence including rape and arson found low levels of MAOA in their blood. It showed that the men had a defect in their MAOA. This study shows that the gene MAOA is associated with aggression, this means that some genes can influence the susceptibility to aggressive behaviour, however it is not certain that one gene can determine aggressive behaviour, however it is likely that many genes can contribute to human behaviour rather than one single gene.…

One of the primary principles of the visual system is the division between the dorsal and ventral streams. Both streams arise in the primary visual cortex but terminate at different locations in the brain. The ventral stream extends along the ventral surface into the inferior temporal cortex while the dorsal stream continues along the dorsal surface into the posterior parietal cortex. I will compare and contrast the views of Ungerleider and Mishkin vs. Milner and Goodale, both of which are influential today.…

The McGill website states “If each hemisphere were unfolded, it would be the size of an extra-large pizza! For this reason, the brain must fold over on itself many times to fit into the skull (McGill “The Brain”). When a website used for academics, compares my brain to pizza I I’m Interested! Can a giant network of neurons make us who we are? The brain is one of the most complex organ of the human body. Many people over time have explored and tried to examine and explain the functions of the brain. Many people have an idea, but most still do not understand. We have read about some of the scientists and experiments they have done including Pierre Florenens, Eduard Hitzig, and VS Ramachandran.…

The cerebral cortex outer layer of the cerebrum has the two largest hemispheres that covers the upper part of the brain which are divided into smaller portion called lobes. Corticalization is an increase in size of the wrinkling of the cortex and without this we would not be any smarter than any other animal. Cerebral hemispheres are divided into right and left halves of the cortex connected by thick band axon fibers called corpus. Hemispheric specialization, testing only one side of the brain by a process called the Split Brain operation, which is essentially a person with two brains in one body. The corpus callosum is cut, to control severe epilepsy (seizure disorder), but this operation is rare and is often used as a last resort.…

The brain is the control center of the human body. It is protected by the skull and is made up of three main parts, the cerebrum, the cerebellum and the Brainstem. The brain is the boss of the body, it runs the show and controls just about everything one does, even when one’s asleep. (Kidshealth, n.d.) During this brief tour guide of the brain, one will see how the brain fits into the Central Nervous System, how the main parts work together, and what would happen if one of those main parts were damaged.…

The frontal lobe and the temporal lobe are the two that we are going to discuss and how they control our behavior. We will also look at what heredity has to do with our behavior and if the lobes were damaged what could the affects be. Broca’s and Wernicke’s had aphesis on the lobes.…

These examples, to an extent prove that in some cases, people can not escape their biology. According to Scott, 2005, genetics is the most argued point of criminology today. Some believe that genetics cause people to commit crimes. Geneticists research to find out if a certain chromosome combination will automatically make you a criminal or not; if this is true you could see even before your child was born if it would be a criminal in society. These studies proved very successful. Here are some outcomes of the geneticist and their lab studies (Ritter, 2006):…

I believe many times in the Christian and especially in the Pentecostal realm, we tend to do things in the name of Christ because we “felt” like it was from the Holy Spirit and instead of determining that by lining it up with the Bible, the living word of God, we tend to trust that our “feelings” are correct. But what happens when those feelings steam from negative, confused, judgemental or passive thinking?…
