Was Brutus A Noble Man
Was dear Brutus a noble man? Brutus was a friend to great Julius Caesar, but he was also a murderer. Brutus had the guts to have several people help him take Caesar’s life. They repeatedly stabbed Julius even though he thought they were his good friends. Caesar had heard about multiple omens, or warnings, before this act of betrayal from many people. He did not believe them nor did he want to. A strange soothsayer said to him, “Beware the Ides of March”. The soothsayer believed that would be the day Caesar would die. Marcus Brutus was not a noble man. Brutus was always known to be loyal to Caesar. They were close friends and Brutus would help Caesar get what he needed for both him and Rome. Brutus was a supporter of Caesar’s choices for Rome.
He wanted the Republic to rule Rome. Brutus did not approve how Caesar was dictating Rome and he believed Caesar had too much power over the Romans. They all feared how much power he had as the ruler. Mark Antony, another dear friend of Caesar, agreed with Brutus when he thought Caesar had way too much power over Rome and the people of Rome. Brutus planned an attack on Caesar. At the foot of Pompey’s statue, the great general Julius Caesar was assassinated by his friends. Caesar was stabbed repeatedly until Marcus Brutus came over to give Caesar the biggest betrayal. The last thing Caesar saw was his loyal friend stabbing him in the heart. Julius Caesar’s last words were “Et tu, Brute? Then fall, Caesar.” Was Marcus Brutus a noble man like Mark Antony said he was? No, Marcus Brutus was not a noble man. His love for Rome was too great and too out of hand. He had people help him in the assassination of Caesar. They all joined together to kill him at the foot of Pompey’s statue. Brutus was not a noble man because he had to murder his friend in order to get closer to becoming one of the new leaders of Rome. He was not a noble friend to Caesar, nor was he a noble Roman in general.
