Was Napoleon Ethical Or Unethical?
If Napoleon was ethical, then why is one of his most famous quotes “Men are more easily governed through their vices, rather than their virtues”? He was not ethical, even though some may say he was. Napoleon was unethical because he killed many people, conquered most of Europe, and he was also power hungry. There can be many reasons why Napoleon was unethical, but there are also some very simple ones. First of all he killed many people, and many people called it like it was, a Hitler-esque fashion. In the way that Hitler hunted down killed Jews, is almost the exact same way Napoleon tried to kill all black people over the age of 12. If people can be ethical like Napoleon and killing large amounts of people, the definition of ethical needs to change. Another reason is that Napoleon ended up killing millions of his own soldiers. It is estimated that 4,736,000 of his own soldiers died in combat. This happened because Napoleon was constantly starting wars. Most of the time he had some pretty bad failures. For instance on June 24, 1812 Napoleon was so power hungry he tried conquering Russia. Furthermore Napoleon did not think very hard on this decision, and as a result almost all of his soldiers died, and finally he had to retreat on December 8, 1812. Napoleon was also power hungry because he used the chaos in France to his advantage and seized power. When France’s government was unstable Napoleon decided that he wanted power and he staged a coup replacing one republican government with a new republican government, and therefore became powerful, and was able to become a strong military leader. This then lead him to crown himself Emperor of the French. After all that Napoleon did, mostly he will be remembered for his failed attack on Russia in

I think that Napoleon in a way demonstrated French Revolution ideals. The French Revolution ideals were for equality and rights for the people, but Napoleon took away a many of the rights that people wanted. The people of France were not allowed to gather in groups of people and discuss beliefs that did not follow Napoleons, and he re-established slavery. He also controlled everything that was published and banned some authors from writing or publishing books during his reign. To me he wanted the people to believe in this ideals rather than promote them to have their own beliefs and thoughts, and being killed for thinking differently to me is not equality or a…

He found it difficult to be innovative and inventive in warfare, and was not receptive to new ideas or strategies. Over his tenure as leader of the army, he also failed to introduce new training methods, and often made judgement errors, including underestimating the amount of supplies that would be needed. Napoleon also found it difficult to accept advice from others who knew better, and often failed to inform his senior officers of what he was planning to do on campaign, and insisted on maintaining all of the power, so they weren’t able to make any of the decisions. In his earlier campaigns, this had been less of an issue, as his armies were often small, but when leading armies of hundreds of thousands of men it was almost impossible for him to maintain control over the entirety of the decisions that needed to be…

He worked for only more power and used people to his advantage. Napoleon did not like the idea of Animalism but he liked the idea of him being the most powerful so he created lies that would allow him to be boosted up above the other animals, giving himself the most power. Though Napoleon was not a good public speaker he used animals such as Squealer, a convening speaker who could manipulate words to their advantage. Napoleon represents Joseph Stalin who was a not in agreement to the idea of “communism” but liked the idea of him being in the highest power of authority. He was relentless and murdered anyone who opposed him, though he was a leader he also did not do very well with public speaking nor was he educated well, he only craved power. Stalin also used other speakers but in different ways, through propaganda.…

There has not been a man so widely interpreted as Napoleon in European history. His early heroic reputation is questioned because of other dictators who went down the same path as he did but for other reasons, such as Stalin and Mussolini. The French Revolution had three goals, liberty, equality, and fraternity, and to make it truly successful these goals must be achieved. Freeing the French, making them equal within themselves, and unifying them, is what Emperor Bonaparte strived for with the Napoleonic Code. Although most believe he did not acquire Liberty, they are content with his achievements. Napoleon not only finished the revolution, he finished with what everyone expected, the demise of the King and the equality among all people. Napoleon truly is "the debate…

Born in 1769, Napoleon Bonaparte is one of the most famous people of French history. Being immersed in the military from the age of 9 and on, it is no wonder that he became one of, arguably, the best military leaders of all time. But, the question comes about, was Napoleon a hero or a tyrant? Along with the many good things that Napoleon did to help the people of France after the French Revolution, came some very, very bad things. In no time he went from being loved and adored by the people of France to being absolutely loathed. Some people argue that even with all the bad things that he did, Bonaparte was still a hero, but how can somebody who did so many terrible things still be a hero? Napoleon was a tyrant because of his belief in equality for only half of the…

When he made the changes that he did, it made it all of the classes a little more equal. He was always looking out for the people so he could get their support. Napoleon made a tax system that was fair unlike the old one. The old system would make the poorer people pay more than the wealthy. Another thing at he did for the people was make government ran public schools available for male students of all backgrounds. People that finished the school went to office not with family connections anymore but on the basis of merit. He also made laws that were called Napoleonic Code. These laws gave the country of France set of rules that were for the most part fair and got rid of many injustices. The two major things that were wrong with the code were that the people did not have freedom of speech or freedom of the press. Napoleon wanted to make himself emperor so he did just that. Because of the changes he made the French voters supported him. In 1804 he took the crown from the pope and crowned himself emperor of France. The people would have also been happy with Napoleon when he sold land to the United States. He sold the land for fifteen million dollars. This brought money to France and also would make the British upset. If I was a member of the bourgeoise I would also be happy with how Napoleon was trying to get more land for France. He was a very determined leader which would be another thing that they would be happy about. I would be happy because Napoleon treated the people fairly and made rules in the best interest of the people for the most…

The actions and decisions Napoleon made during his rule over France give evidence that he was a tyrant. A tyrant is defined as a ruler who uses power unjustly or oppressively. Napoleon used his power in both of those ways. He not only limited who had power in society, but also controlled the church. By trying to monopolize all of Europe, it is shown how harsh Napoleon's rule was and how tyrannical he really was.…

One of the many ways that napoleon stays in power is by animalism. Animalism is a government made up by the pigs, it has seven commandments but can be simplified into “Four legs good, two legs bad”. The pigs changed the commandments throughout the story so that the commandments will benefit them and only them. For example there is a rule that no animal shall drink alcohol, and the pigs took it upon themselves to change the rule while they were under the influence themselves! The new rule read(italics mean the new part) ‘no animal shall drink alcohol to excess” The pigs eventually changed all of the commandments into one rule which read” All animals are equal but some are more equal than others”.…
