Germany in the years 1933 – 1939?
Explain your answer (16)
Throughout Hitler’s dictatorship a number of different strategies and plans were used in order to control Germany however some were effective and some were not as effective.
Firstly it was propaganda so along with Dr. Joseph Goebbels who was the head of propaganda and a very good man at his work, Hitler was of for his first goal, winning the German population in order to control them. Goebbels did not miss a single opportunity he had to make the Nazis look like a successful and effective group that was very organized and welcoming to people. He put this out there in ‘The Nuremburg Rallies” which were rallies and parades that took place every summer with the goal to show everyone how well organized and successful the Nazis were as well as to certify how perfect the Aryan race were and this was quite effective as people were looking up to it and they made it seem like everybody believed in the Nazis.
The next opportunity was the 1936 Olympics where Goebbels went beyond and built a stadium with the most advanced technology systems and also trained the most remarkable team of athletes. This was again to make the Nazis look incredible and well organized so it brainwashed all the German people although most of the foreigners that came over to Germany realized what the Nazis were trying to do however just as they wanted the German people were in favor and supported the Nazis so they were effectively controlling Germany.
Censorship was the next part that played an important role in the propaganda scheme. Everything from newspapers and magazines to even sculptures all had to be approved by Goebbels before being published or released to make sure that nothing anti Nazi was seen by the people. They all had to have a pro Nazi message with them. Since the people did not know the Nazis
