Washington's Farewell Address Persuasive Speech
My fellow citizens, I have an announcement that will change the way we live our lives. Washington is this city’s general, this city’s leader and we are supposed to look up to him, trust him and stand by him. As your mayor I make decisions for the safety of you and this city. Washington committed treason! He is trying to overthrow our king and put his own government in place. Citizens we cannot trust him. He cannot continue to be our leader. “Our task is to hold this city loyal, nothing more.” Washington and his rebels will come after us; raiding our homes for lead and our stores for anything they desire we must stop him. We must execute him. Washington must die!
With Washington dead, our lives will be back to normal. No more raids. No more
threats. No more destruction. No more chaos. We will be safe and free of the rebels raiding our homes.
Washington’s rebellion against our king is like a weed, cut it off it at the stem it grows back once more, but if we cut it off at the roots the weed will be gone forever. Assassinating Washington will cut the weed at the root. Parliament will do what we require and the revolution will collapse.
