Based on the seminar, the topic is all about Intellectual Property. Intellectual Property is the idea or invention of the human mind. Just for example, the inventions we made, literary and artistic work, designs, symbols, images and names. Intellectual Property have different rights which is patent, utility model or industrial design, layout design, geographical indication, trademark, copyright and related rights and protection of undisclosed information. It has three most common classification; Patent, Copyright and Trademark. Patent is granted for inventions, technical solution to a problem in any field of human activity. A patent owner has the exclusive right to make use, sell or import the patented products or process. Utility model is a useful tool in supporting the first to market place advantage. It promotes progress of technology and encourages innovation among small to medium business and local industry. It also helps to protect product that are not sufficiently inventive to meet the inventive threshold required for standard patent application. It is any useful machine, implement, tools, product, composition, process, improvement or part of the industrial applicability. Industrial design helps to make one product more pleasing to the eyes and also improves the usability of a product. It is used to improve the product’s marketability. Also, the reason why the product became more interesting and more likely to become sold and used by consumers. It focuses principally on aesthetic and user interface aspects of products. Ironically, industrial design as such does not overlap much with engineering sub-discipline of industrial engineering except for the latter’s sub specialty of ergonomics.
