We Are Okay Book Summary
The author of this book is Nina LaCour. I have not read any of her other books yet. Title of the book is called “ We Are Okay”. The book fits well in the text of the book. New York, NY 2017. This book has 233 pages. We Are Okay is a fiction book. People who are low in life like sad, this book is for them because this book help people like that feel better and they aren't alone. I really do not read these kind of books, but something told me to read it. The jacket of the book has a picture of a teenage girl in her room on top of her bed, with her phone on her bed and he just thinks about what's going on. I was really excited to start reading this book because the cover made it look interesting. The main characters of this book is Marin. Marin …show more content…
Reading this book made me think why did I stop reading in the first place. We Are Okay by Nina LaCour is a good book to read. I learned so much about Marin felt. Marin felt alone in this book because she was in her dorm for the whole break. Her friend Mabel came and spend about a week with Marin. It's been a minute since Mabel and Marin talked. They wrote to each other instead of texting. Hannah on the other hand is Marin roommate. Hannah left to her parents how for the break.
Hannah told Marin to come down in a week to spend New Years with them so she won't be alone. Marin was really hesitant about flying up there. At the college that Hannah and Marin go to are really close to the janitor, so the janitor helps her tell the secretary about her staying there until she graduates. He also asks her if she needs anything else. The parts I like in this book is where her friends and janitor help her get out of the dorm for a bit, to have fun and not be stuck up in the dorm. The book is great to read I would tell my friends to read it and my family members to read it too. The book got to me in a way. But then seeing more of it lift me up and lift the book up more. Marin may be lonely in the beginning of this book, but trust me she feels better about herself. I would recommend this book to a lot of people, especially the ones who are going through the same as Marin. If they read it, I'll give them the heads up on how it's sad the first 3

In this book, the main character had to go through a lot of internal and external conflicts throughout the book. Some of the internal conflicts the main character, Alex, had to face include keeping his mental strength that allowed him and his two sisters to stay alive. Some external conflicts include how Alex had to deal with his two sisters and make them do what he says since he was the next in charge of the family after their parents are gone and his older brother, Carlos, in the marines. I personally dont like the ending of the book. Why does Alex sister, Brianna, have to die? My favorite character in this book is Kevin. Even though Kevin died at a part in this book, he was a thoughtful person for Alex. Kevin always gave Alex food that he didnt need and helped him get one more bag of food at the food line every morning. After reading this book, I learned that making more friends will make a lot of difference once you are stuck in a difficult situation. I will recommend this book to any people that are interested in catastrophic situation.…

Rachel stopped being friends with her after Melinda had called the police at an end of the summer party, but not for the reasons many would expect. The developments and growth of the character name Miles was the person who changed through the story. Miles Halter a 16 year old kid who was ready to go to a boarding school was an anti-social person. As it stated in the story “the only thing worse than having a party that no one attends is having a party attended only by two vastly, deeply uninteresting people.”(John Green, Pg:4). This quote proves how he really didn’t have basically any friends. Miles shows in this quote how he was independent at school and really wasn’t interested in making friends. The two people that showed up really weren’t Miles friends since he said they were “deeply uninteresting people”, he just considered them as classmates. Miles shows how he starts off as being an isolated individual and really not in a hurry in making friends. The passage also represents how he wasn’t really disappointed in the fact that he didn’t have any friends. Basically he didn’t have anyone to rely on just his parents and himself. As I read through the story another quote that show how he started…

From line ten to the end it takes about the speaker’s home life and it seems like they aren’t aware of the reality around them. Their father had gotten out of the hospital and they didn’t seem sympathetic towards him, the speaker seemed to focus on the fact that they got to move into a new house and didn’t have to live in an apartment anymore. “We’d moved / from the apartment over the store / into a house with a front door. / I wanted people to ring the bell / and I’d answer it like on TV.” (ll 16-20). The speakers father has just been brought home and all they can focus on is opening the door like the people…

As I walked into Kinard on the first day, I pretended like I knew what I was doing as I walked to my locker and my first class. Although no one stared at me like I was the only new student, I felt alone and isolated because I had never experienced anything like it before. The one time during my first day that I truly felt like “the stranger in the village” was during lunch. I could not find any of my friends from Saint Joseph and I felt like a little kid that was lost from her mom in a crowded mall. I did not know anyone and no one knew me.…
