We Should Have Less Time To Start School
Have you ever noticed how early in the year we start school and how late we end the year? There is less time for vacations and therefore less time with your friends. I think we should have less half days in the school year and the school year should start earlier.

I believe it would be a good idea if school did get out earlier because you would get a longer vacation. If you did get a longer vacation, you would be refreshed and ready for the new year instead of thinking that the school year came too soon. The traditional schedule for school is outdated because in the old days, it allowed for children to help harvest crops during the summer. Now, the long summer just enables kids to be lazy and easily forget what they learned at the end of the previous school year. If a year round school year were to be implemented, kids would not be able to be as lazy and breaks would not be so long as to let kids forget a whole bunch of their school curriculum.…

Have you ever wondered why teachers take a whole month to review everything from the previous year or why students tend to forget everything? Every year, students are keeping their calendars at hand and counting down the days until summer vacation. It’s the last day of school and when the final bell rings, kids are ready to do nothing for three months. However, is this really a good thing? The possibility of having year-round schools is at hot debate topic right now and it is time for change from traditional calendar schools. Schools should incorporate a system where schooling is year-round instead of having a long summer break because this allows for more learning and would prevent the problem of students forgetting everything they’ve learned the previous year.…

I think that starting the school day later would greatly benefit the students and teachers. if we started school at about say nine thirty in the morning instead of eight thirty or earlier, that would mean that most students wouldn't need to be awake in the morning till almost seven thirty to eight thirty and some kids could even wake up a little later then that depending on where they live. granite it is proven that high school students only need six to eight hours of sleep each night but there is always that few that never get the six to eight hours of sleep.…

If the only way to save your life was to blame an innocent member in your community, would you? In The Crucible, Arthur Miller expresses the acts of finding a scapegoat through John Proctor and Reverend Hale juxtaposed to Abigail, the girls and some of the accused. Many of the accused “witches” admit to being a witch and save their own lives by offering the names of other witches in the community. If the accused claim they are not witches, they will be hanged for witchcraft, but if they confess and desire God’s forgiveness, their lives will be spared. “HALE: You have confessed yourself to witchcraft, and that speaks a wish to come to Heaven’s side. And we will bless you Tituba.” (Page 43).…

Many schools in the United States are beginning to change their school calendar so their students attend class all year round. The changes still allow the students time off in the summer, but they do not have the three months of break most students in America receive traditionally. Instead, they get a break of a couple weeks in the summer, and the remainder of the time is divided up and put into other breaks throughout the year. All schools in America should switch to a year-round calendar to accommodate the different and higher level of learning needed to be successful in our changing world and society. The traditional school system was designed many years ago when our country was an agricultural nation. Therefore, the school calendar was developed having a long break in the summer so students could assist their family with cultivating crops and other aspects of farm life. The traditional school calendar was not a calendar for higher learning, and should be extended to meet the needs of modern day students. There are many explanations as to why the traditional school calendar should be changed.…
