We The People Journey Analysis
Congratulations! This is your first step into the We The People journey. Look at the two people next to you, you will be stuck with them for the rest of the school year. You three will grow to be a powerhouse through work and support from each other. After (hopefully) completing the summer assignment, you have an overall idea of what Unit 3 is. However, it is not until you research it in depth that you realize that it is by far the best unit you could be in. This unit allows you to find your passions and fight for them, whether it is protecting minorities, voting rights, or your hate for the inefficiency of Congress (and the government in general). This unit is court case heavy. Anything relating to equal protection, due process, incorporation and civil rights in general has a zillion court cases related to it.

One of the most important things that you need to realize is to trust Hyams. He knows exactly what he is doing, especially when it comes to choosing your unit mates. For example, we didn't put each other on our dream list but somehow ended up together. Although we didn’t have Unit 3 in our top choices for units, at the end of the year, none of us could imagine being in any other unit or having other

Make sure to have conversations with each other about your question and clarify it to one another if someone doesn’t understand it. Make sure that everyone knows what is going on, and never leave anyone behind. It will be hard and difficult at first. Get to know your unit mates first. Our unit did not take the time to get to know each other outside of WTP until after the state competition. Once we did, we were more united and cohesive in competition as well as better friends. We liked to watch movies together that related to our unit like “Selma”, “13th”, “Lincoln” and

To the extent of this class so far, we have had the opportunity to read the book titled, Our Lives Matter by Pamela R. Lightsey. Throughout this publication, Lightsey argues that Womanist theology is a response to both sexism and racism; her own perspective as a queer Womanist theologian, she also responds to homophobia. Therefore, Lightsey concludes that sexism, racism, and homophobia are a sin. In response to Lightsey being a pastor, I have been inspired to respond to the subject matter by using a combination of scripture, reason, and her claims. Oppression has been present in the United States for centuries, and if we never bring the problem to attention, we can’t fix it. Furthermore, throughout this essay, you will pertain the knowledge of oppression being dealt with, sexism, racism, and homophobia, and how modern Christians should respond.…

In reading the novel, “Enrique’s Journey” by Sonia Nazario, Enrique seems to face many dilemmas that cause him to make many hash decisions which affect himself and loved ones. The two of the many causes he confronts through his journey to El Norte include whether he stays in the U.S. or return to Honduras after a series of event that happen. There are two different perspectives that represent the consequences and tactical choices in the world of social movements, those two perspectives are: “resource mobilization” and “political process.” Both of these perspectives tend to have a limited focus and put most of their attention on tactics. This is limiting because they do not focus on their opponents. “Resource mobilization” (RM) and “Political Process” (PP) have big differences between them as well; the biggest difference between these is their beliefs on potential power of the social movements. Barkan has three different reasons for writing this article, the first being; he wants to show the importance of studying tactics of movements involving social movements that are of access…
