Weakness As A Writer
I want to start from my weakness as a writer. One of my weakness as a writer will be starting to write or getting the idea to start my writing. I always have a hard time to start my essays it seems like I will have a hard time to gather my idea or will be confuse where to start my writings from. To avoid this, I will write down everything I am thinking then I will re-read it that way I can avoid the ideas I don’t need. My other weakness is summarizing some one else’s work or to summarize an article, book or magazine. Whenever I try to summarize I will start copying it and it will be too long. To avoid this, I will read the article or the writing I want to summarize again and again and I will try to find the main point then I will write what

When I look at myself as a writer, I see that I have my own strengths can also be weaknesses. One of my strengths I feel that I have as a writer is that I am very critical of my work. I review multiple copies of my writing. This tends to help when I am critiquing the overall voice and direction of my paper. A weakness of mine that is worth when it comes to my writing is the fact that I do not always understand or accept what others say about my writing. What I mean…

Philip K Dick was one of the most brilliant science fiction writers of the past 50 years, even if he only received widespread renown after his early death. He is the archetype of a struggling writer, his best work, The Man In The High Castle, came relatively early in his long and financially poor career. It is a gripping, alternative history novel about if the Axis Powers won World War Two and right from the start, traditional roles are reversed, white Americans are treated far worse than their Japanese or German overlords and everything you think you know about the past is turned…

The Wichita Kid from “The Gunfighter” by Alden Nowlan and a young man living on the streets of Calgary both demonstrate that we fear what we do not understand. Citizens need to personally comprehend someones situation before they can help or judge them directly. Homelessness and poverty are often hard situations to face considering how uncomfortable and awkward it can become. When Kevin O’Brien has a short conversation with Wichita he learns that he is unaware of reality and living his delusional life as a famous gunfighter. Confused and not understanding Wichita’s situation, Kevin tries to solve his own guilt by lending the young boy some spare change. Much like Kevin O’Brien when I encountered the young unfortunate man in Calgary my own heart ached, so I tossed him a couple of loonies and left. Although you feel major misery there is rarely anything you can do to support them without getting deeply involved.…

I like to write so that really keeps me motivated. I also try to be really good about looking over my papers; especially reading them out loud helps pick out the errors. Some of my weaknesses as a writer are I’m not very good at making a start or an ending; they usually just get jumbled up with the rest of the paper. I also feel I am not very good with commas.…

I often struggle with integrating quotes into my writing in a literary analysis. I more so struggle with coming up with main points and ideas in the essay, I can think of them in my head but more often than not I cannot find a good way to transfer my ideas to the paper. Although I may not excel at those things, I believe I do well in summarizing, paraphrasing (I’m good at analyzing non-fiction text especially). As of now you know how I write, and why I write like I do, but I have a few more things to address about myself as a writer that didn’t fall under a category of a weakness.…

Thinking of creative ways on how to develop my paper is a strong suit I benefit while taking on a writing assignment. When given a topic to write about, I write down what comes into my head. I do not worry about the word count if the sentences make sense on paper or even punctuation. I write to avoid forget any important points I might have thought of. This method of writing is where my weaknesses show. Sometimes what I wrote makes sense in my head, but not on paper. Other challenges I face with writing assignments are time management and punctuation.…

On the first day of class, Dr.Ruiz wrote six questions on the board and the last question asked for our perspective on writing. My answer to this question was “I hate writing.” I’m an English Learner who came to the U.S. 5 years ago with no knowledge in English. Therefore, writing is not a likable assignment due to my lack of English skills and I did not have confidence when I wrote in English because I had a fear of people’s judgment about my English. Therefore, I was not an advanced writer when I enrolled in WRI 001. Nevertheless, I have grown substantially since beginning of the semester as a reader, writer, researcher and thinker.…

Unfortunately, weaknesses are a challenge I do not cope with very well, especially in a scholastic setting. I was unaware of my writing weakness until English II displayed it in black and white. Furthermore, a considerable obstacle I found tough to overcome was confidence. Before turning in a test, a paper, or a project, I often underestimate myself in performing the task set before me. However, the results I receive constantly prove that I am capable of quality work. When my instructor assigned the first paper, I immediately began to focus all my efforts toward the assignment. After completing and submitting the paper, I patiently waited for the results. Not only did I earn a perfect score, I also received comments from my instructor stating how she admired…

I find writing a very neutral subject because I am not terrible nor excellent at it. I have always written enough for it to be satisfactory. Therefore, I believe that one of my strengths as a writer is being able to understand what I have to write about and knowing what I want to say. I question myself every step of the way, asking myself “ Is what I am writing, answering the topic that I am addressing?” However, with that said, I believe that my weakness lies in that fact that I cannot put my thoughts into words. I have a vast amount of ideas that never get a chance to come alive on paper. I feel that I am not very good at transitions and sentence structures. Another weakness is that it takes me an awful long…
