Comparison of Two Religions week 4 rel 212

In this assignment, you will select two (2) religions from those studied thus far in the course (i.e., Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Daoism, and Confucianism). Next, compare and contrast them based on the criteria provided. Note: The two (2) religions you selected cannot be any that you practice now or have practiced in the past.
Write a two to three (2-3) page paper in which you:
1. Select two (2) religions from those that we have studied so far. Identify the origin of each religion, and discuss at least three (3) of its foundational spiritual beliefs.
2. Explain how these beliefs that you have identified for each of the two (2) religions are both similar and different.
3. Explain the spiritual practices of each religion.
4. Explain how each religion is practiced today. Provide one (1) specific example of how each is practiced.
5. Identify at least two (2) ways in which each religion is practiced in the world. Provide a specific example of each way you identified to support the response.
6. Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Your assignment must:
 Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
 Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page

    Everyone has different beliefs and cultures. Religion is important in our society and every religion is different. Although they all have some similarities. All religions give us some kind of stress and anxiety reducing effect. They also impart us with an emotion of satisfaction and happiness. Religions offers hope that after we die there is another life.     Religion as defined by Dictionary.com is defined as a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. Within the Caribbean, there are many religions found due to persons’ varying beliefs and as such when it comes to the use of medicines within these religions, it varies in order to suit their religious beliefs. With the recent outbreak of new strains of diseases like Chikungunya and Ebola, it poses one question: how are persons medicating themselves? The most common medium in which to combat these diseases and even the common cold would be to visit the central place of healing, the hospital. Here, there are doctors and persons trained in the art of healing to care for these diseases with antidotes formulated in scientific labs. However some religions do not believe in such methods natural, organic and/or spiritual means to combat illnesses. Islam, Jehovah’s Witness and Shouter Baptism are just three of the many religions found regionally and internationally that fit these criteria and will be focused on within this study. As their religious backgrounds vary so greatly, there are different takes on the use of medication. For example for each religion stated above, the treatment for Diabetics and Anaemia sufferers will vary.…
