Abstract
This paper discusses how visual media impacts a business’s success. Visual literacy is discussed in detail, touching on points such as how visual media can be utilized to create a big impact on the intended audience. In this paper, the intended audience is the staff of a women’s retail company, Silhouette, Inc. A staff training strategy is implemented through three platforms, two of which are thoroughly discussed. A training manual and a PowerPoint presentation as well as role play will be the key components in training Silhouette, Inc.’s staff to be a well rounded and strong unit. This in turn delivers successful business. This paper also touches on branding, design, typography, visual marketing, and effective communication. The success of a business comes down to the effective communication through a variety of methods, and connects the physical sight and psychological perception, and supports delivery of the desired message.

Silhouette, Inc. Training Guide: Visual Media’s Impact A variety of elements are essential in running a successful business. These elements work together in order to achieve profit and thrive amongst its competitors. In order for such success to happen, a strong management team must be in place. The management team leading the way must carry out the business plan and strategy. This is achieved through proper training and guidance of staff. Management must have fundamental components in place in order to achieve success. An element that assists in management training their team is visual media. While training can be conducted without the use of visual media, it is an essential tool to generating a strong team because it offers a variety of forms to communicate, connects the physical sight and psychological perception, and supports delivery of the desired message.
