The memorable quote "All gave some...Some gave all" really describes the emotion all of us as Americans should have towards our flag. Memorial Day is a tribute to those who died for our country. We use our flag to honor them by decorating their graves. If that doesn't show the honor that comes along with our flag, nothing…

Do you know why St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated? What is the actual reason of the whole gaga celebrations going around in the country? Why is Be-Brief offering the sale? Well, let me tell everything about the auspicious occasion.…
Chartering and being in charge of a club can be very rewarding, but there can also be a plethora of obstacles that have to be overcome. I am the president of the Best Buddies program – a program that seeks to increase interactions between people with and without special needs – at my high school, and I was the first person in my county to charter this program which was back when I was in the eighth grade. Being the President of this specific club is very challenging and unique: it requires you to work with a wide variety of students – in the mainstream setting and those with special needs – and those students’ parents. From these challenges, I learned the value of persistence and the importance of keeping to your word no matter what life…
I just want to send a special thank you to all who submitted posters for the 2017 Shared Governance Day Event. This is one of the forum used to share best practices and celebrate the contribution of nurses in supporting the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values. CCF is extremely proud of your dedication and hard work that you and your staff are doing to improve patient care. I hope to see this display of support at the 2018 Shared Governance Day Event.…
Being one of the eldest senior team members of MOVZ Dance Company, serving in a position of leadership has been a normality of the last four years. As over twenty hours per week are spent around numerous impressionable young girls, the decisions I make are of utmost influence. I hope my presence has guided the company towards excellence, in the sense of both talent and atmosphere, and has left a positive impact on these girls for the rest of their lives.…
My inner goddess was brimming with pride. This election was Kristi Yamaguchi’s gold medal. I bore on my shoulders ten Key Clubs in my division. Everywhere I went, I was reminded of my responsibility to fulfill my duty: “Did I tell my clubs that monthly reports are due on the 5th yet? Nope, got to send an email about that.” The notes and reminders app on my phone was in frequent use. In the hallways at school, I strode independently with an aura of self-assurance and maturity echoed in every step. I had a job to lead the clubs in my division and represent the Key Clubs in my…
Throughout my high school career, I have been given numerous opportunities to lead other students by example, work ethic, volunteerism, and school involvement. I believe that my greatest impact as a leader in high school has been through my participation in a Service Learning Class. This class gave me the chance to help and lead others by tutoring younger students in the middle school and elementary school. As a senior, I felt responsible for providing a voice for the class in ideas and decisions to help better our school. I worked with administrators, teachers, and class members to promote healthy habits of responsibility, school pride, respect, and service.…
Being in the Collingswood HS Marching Band for five years has put me in the position of being an example to the younger members. I have learned that patience, and perseverance are valued qualities in a leader. When helping a new member of my section in the band this year, I had to be patient with her so that she would be able to be able to contribute positively to the performance. Also, when time management between school, band, and other responsibilities have weighed heavily on me, I have…
Although it may sound naïve, my leadership as a student on campus, and as a woman in general, demonstrates my motivation to pay it forward. I recognize the opportunities I have as a student leader, and those that I hope to have in the future as a professional. Those include leading and mentoring those yet to come. I hope to cultivate a culture of gratitude, and given my background, I hope it is evident that I am anything but naïve. I understand the challenge it may be, better yet, that is what sparks the fire in me that cannot accept anything short of success.…
As a result, homecoming court was a diverse group of individuals ranging from the first chair in orchestra to a special needs child to a founder of an SAT Prep Club. The local news network Herald spotlighted our event, because of the new function of homecoming court, resulting a special needs student who won homecoming king. I believe that my ingenuity to learn from others perspective, and be an open minded individual granted me the opportunity to understand that there was a bigger issue: people felt that the past homecoming court nomination procedure was shallow. At the brink of falling into the abyss, I nearly quitted leadership because of students who became unfavorable of me. However, I chose not to quit because I knew my purpose in serving my community and of being a servant leader. I was bold and took initiative, regardless of any leadership role. I learned doing what is best for my community, school, and institution, was all that mattered, not my social status within a class…
Debbi Fields was from humble beginnings but with hard work and determination she became a shining example of a woman who achieved the American dream. By establishing a successful cookie business she accomplished something that most believed was impossible. Not only did her dream come true but it did so in a big way. Her rags-to-riches story should be an inspiration to all of us that through hard work and perseverance anything is possible.…
Thank you. If you keep watching, there is an episode where they celebrate V-A Day which is the day that the war ended. Again, if you strip away all the Nazi stuff, it could be Thanksgiving. It could be an Independence Day. It is really chilling by how closer it is to the American Dream than not at all.…
On Thanksgiving we gather with our family and friends, thinking that we are celebrating everything that we are grateful for and giving thanks to that. We do this by sitting around a large table of smiling faces with a big, hot, succulent, golden brown turkey in the center that went through a horribly miserable death, just to get on our plates in time so we could celebrate our good times through its worst. First, I would like to talk about my own experience. Getting time to spend with my family is one of the greatest traditions, and I am so thankful for that. For having to work long hours and going to school, and everyone else having such a busy schedule. Find that time to have every family member gathers around the table and enjoy a wonderfully…
