Welfare System

I am grateful that the United States has implemented a system to help those in need. I just feel the system should focus on forcing its beneficiaries to obtain job skills or help individuals with education, and make it a requirement for people to participate in helping themselves get off the system to support themselves. It is very common to see people live off the system their whole lives. They receive discounted rent, cash assistance, fuel assistance, health insurance, all the necessary essentials at no cost to the non working individual but at all costs to the working man. The government makes it way too easy. As I mentioned prior, children are products of their environment. Because children grow into molds as they see suitable from the way they grew up, puts a hindering effect on society, and the amount of support needed from hard working taxpayers. The government needs to implement a higher standard in its beneficiaries. Put it this way, if I want my child to grow into being a successful member of society, I have to form a certain structure of responsibility and independency. I can remember in my teenage years I couldn't wait to be on my own and not have to be under the watchful eye of my mother. It is my honest opinion that the state makes it too easy for people to learn how to live off and abuse the system to their benefit. I believe the government needs to take a step back and revamp their benefit system, not just to assist people in obtaining job skills or getting education, but pushing and forcing the persons to obtain such skills. The government needs to stop being the rich parent that always gives and needs to be the parent that shows their kids how to earn by doing chores and being responsible. If a person needs benefits, the benefits should be earned and not given. This will have a chain reaction type of effect.
