West Nile Virus: A Case Study

West Nile virus caused a huge outbreak in 2013 ;this is called a mass hysteria. Mass hysteria is when people think of imaginary or real threats from rumors and lies. West Nile virus causes fever,headaches,body aches and skin rash. The virus is spread by mosquitos which makes it more likely to get infected. People were constantly worried that they or their children will get the virus . This goes along with The Crucible because several people started talking about witchcraft and then it began to spread.The more people spoke of it ,the more they were terrified. The West Nile virus only started because one person overreacted. The Salem Witch Trials happened because one parent overreacted.John Proctor dies because of Abigail,Elizabeth and society.What was the main reasons for John proctor's
The court believes John and his wife are lying to save themselves from being hung. Elizabeth found out about the affair .Elizabeth acted cold and abusive towards John. So he went elsewhere to find the love and comfort he wanted.Elizabeth was not happy when she found out about the affair. Things in the house were silent and at times very awkward.
The way society was also caused him problems. Around the town the word of witchcraft has been thrown about. The girls are yelling names and claiming people are witches. Everyone then begins to go to jail and leave their homes. As the people go to jail,the crops begin to die,children run around with no supervision and homes are falling apart.This not only affects John Proctor but everyone else in the town. My conclusion is that rumors get around and cause issues. The whole reason for the Salem Witch Trials was because one person overacted.As one person got hung the rest of them met their demise.Mass Hysteria causes problems world wide.John Proctor didn't deserve what happened to him. He may have cheated on his wife and not went to church, but that doesn't mean he deserved to be
