Abstract: Google Inc., the great corporate empire known for its revolutionary search engine, stands apart from its competitors in many different ways, but the most promising of all is the company’s cultural lifestyle and leadership style of its co-founder and CEO, Larry Page.
Introduction: Google Inc. was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Both men captured the moment once the opportunity arise and created a company sought out to ease the internet search engines as we know it. Larry Page stood out from the rest. He is a leader dedicated to the success of his company by motivating and inspiring his employees. In this paper, we will discuss how Larry Page utilizes many of the different motivational theories to succeed unlike his predecessors. Some of these theories mentioned are, the Expectancy Theory of Motivation, McClelland’s Theory of Motivation, The Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory, Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory and The Equity Theory. Larry Page not only utilizes these theories to his companies advantage, but the leadership style he obtained has now become a lifestyle that has made Google, the best place to work for in the United States. The organizational behavior is an absolute priority for Larry Page. He manages the company from an employee’s view point. He understands simply directing employees to do
