Whale sharks are one of the three known and largest species in the ocean.
Their scientific name is rhincodon typus and it is a spotted shark of warm temperature waters.
There are 3 shark species of megamouth sharks,basking shark and whale sharks.It is a slow moving filter feeder but catches its prey very fast and quick.Whales sharks are 3 times the size of a shark.

This Whale shark is a slow moving animal it is also known for the name of (Rhincodon typus) its length is 12.65m long and its mouth can be 4.9ft wide.Its height is 12m, and its weight is 19,000kg.Whale sharks heads are flattened and have blunt snouts above its mouth. This animals life span can live up to 70yrs,and can be up to 46ft long.Whale sharks are not part of the marine mammal
family,It is written that these whale sharks are not whale sharks they are sharks because they are the size of a whale and eats shark food.They are really harmless creatures they do not hurt human beings.Their dorsal fins helps them to balance their pace of moving and not rolling over into other directions. It's true that female whale sharks can have up to 300 pups.They can live up to 100 years of age but not comes sexually mature until they are in their early 30’s.

Whale sharks are inhabited to be in tropical warm temperate seawater. This fish is primarily pelagic and is found in open sea water not in greater depths of the ocean,although this whale can dive up to depths of as much as 1,800m(5,900ft). Whale sharks are found in countries such as Ningaloo Reef,the gulf of kutch,the gulf of Tadjoura in Djibouti,and Saurashtra coast of Gujarat..More than 400 whale sharks were gathered of the yucatan coast,one of the largest whale shark ever recorded.

This animal feeds on krill, fish, copepods,cloud of eggs,christmas island red crab (larvae) plankton and nekton also known as a squid.
Whale sharks are active feeders, targeting plankton and fish .A whale shark is estimated to eat 21kg (46p) of plankton a day.The whale shark swims forward constantly with its mouth open and pushes water and food into its mouth.All whale sharks cannot eat or swallow human beings because of its esophagus cannot swallow big size objects or things.But if whale sharks do tend to swallow you scientists estimate that they will spit you back out.

Whale sharks were believed that there were oviparous, that some eggs were to be found on the bottom of the ocean.weeks later it was proved that such eggs were not laid by their mothers but probably the result of abortions.Eggs hatch inside their mother and pups will always receive food from its surroundings until they're fully formed.
