The exposition in this story would be Jack making the decision to go out and seek his fortune and when he actually set out to accomplish that decision. At the beginning of the fairytale Jack has decided he will seek his fortune and take the necessary action to get it done by actually taking the journey, “one morning he started to go and seek his fortune.” This is the beginning of the action in this story. As he continued along his way, other characters joined him on this quest.
