America is a beautiful country and I am proud to call it my home. This is a beautiful land for millions that grants its people plentiful opportunities to start a wonderful life. The United States of America is the most honorable country to live in; we have been credited for our vast amount of freedom to all. America can easily be claimed the greatest nation in the world. We do, however, have an issue, an issue with the homosexuals. The true American people need to do something about this blasphemy.…
Myia Peterson Mr. Dalton What It Means To Be An American 16 October, 2015 America was founded in the beliefs that it would become a land of opportunity, filled with hardworking individuals who wanted to state a claim in this world. Today, these beliefs are still strong, and being fulfilled on a daily basis. Americans have accomplished far more than anyone ever imagined they would within the past 4 decades or so, and are still working to achieve more and more today. To be an American means to be proud of your country, and that any person can have big dreams, and through hardwork and determination, can accomplish them. “When an American says that he loves his country, he means not only that he loves the New England hills, the prairies glistening in the sun, the wide and rising plains, the great mountains, and the sea.…
I can live in a country where I am not in constant fear of what unpredictable event might happen next. I am proud to be an American for having freedoms that other countries only dream about. I am forever thankful to live in the United States. This is why I am proud to be an…
Have you ever wondered what living in America actually means? To many people being an American is a title filled with sacrifice and courage. To others it means having a democracy style of government, or to be living the American Dream to some it may mean being free. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and most of them are not wrong, but the question still remains? What does America mean? Does your America entitle freedom and equality, democracy or does it entitle honor and integrity.…
To me Canada means freedom and home of the free. Canada is a non racist country where everyone is treated equally, women, men, boys, girls, adult or kid. None of it matters because we are all humans, who should be treated equally, no matter what size or colour. I am proud to be Canadian because of this and many other reasons.…
The American Flag stands today to show that the wonderful place we call America, is forever united and will stand strong till we are all no more. Foreigners come to visit our nation and notice that, we Americans are full of purity, innocence, honor and peace, which the 6 white stripes on our flag imply. Also, we are all full of power, strength, bravery and endurance because we don’t allow anyone or anything to tear our nation apart. We will forever stand as one in a blue field of justice, fairness and right.…
All Americans are guaranteed equal justice. They are allowed equal justice because America is a free country. Americans are inclined to freedom and with that freedom, have the ability to create infinite opportunities for themselves, which then allow them to find success, happiness, and prosperity. Americans can find these opportunities because they live in a meritocracy, and are provided with rights and freedoms that come from The Constitution of the United States of America. The Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments of the constitution, are a significant portion of rights that give Americans their freedom. Some of these rights include, the freedom of speech, religion, right to bare arms, the right to equal justice and right to own private property. They also to enjoy many other freedoms such as raising a family, traveling anywhere in the U.S., having the freedom to receive a free education, and work at any job for which a citizen can qualify. Through these freedoms Americans are able to pursue careers in anything that gratifies them, practice any religion they believe in, and being able to protect themselves from harm with the right to bare arms. This allows them the opportunity of living a life of happiness and success, all because they have the freedom to do so. Americans ability to embrace their freedom, use it for the better of the world, and to prosper in whatever they choose to pursue, is the meaning of what it means to be an American.…
I am proud to be an American because children are free to pursue their dreams, to celebrate their successes and to rise to fight again when they fail. I have the opportunity to go to school and get an education for free. Moreover, if I do well I have an opportunity to receive a scholarship to a college where I can go to broaden my knowledge of the world around me. I can find out great things about my country such as more than 40 years ago we took a hard look at ourselves and said it was wrong to judge a man by the color of his skin or that long ago, brave men gave up their lives to show the strange concept of people governing themselves could work, even in the worst of times.…
There are a lot of amazing things about America; for instance beautiful people, amazing structures, some guy getting mugged in the alleyway; but a lot of people have been asking the age old question what’s right about America?…
My grandfather always used to explain to me how lucky I was to be able to be an American. He would inform me on how valuable it was and how I should never take it for granted. He expressed that I should feel honored to be able to have all the opportunities I do. I never understood him growing up. I did not understand how growing up somewhere, like America, versus another country could be any different. I understand now. When I was younger, my mother would tell different stories about her childhood. She would go into saying, “Growing up grandpa was in the service. I always missed him and did not understand why he had to go fight people “for our freedom,” as he would say. I always felt free, I always felt like everyone in the world got along, I didn’t understand why he had to go out and fight, why he had to go out and risk his life.” She would inform me on how important it was, as an American, to contribute to our country and to do my part as a citizen. My grandfather served in the army. What could I do?…
According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of an American is a person born, raised, or living in the U.S. but is that what it truly means to be an American? Millions from all around the world come to USA to turn their life around because they weren’t doing so good at their home country. Many people have their own meaning of being an American which most are similar or have a similar idea but I feel like my meaning of an American is meaningful to me because of the state our country is in. Clearly, it means different things to many different people.…
In my opinion America is the greatest country on earth. One of the best things about America is our freedom. Our freedom is something to truly be proud of! In many other countries you have to filter what you say, but not in great ole America you are legally able to say whatever you want. In some Asian countries young children and lower class adults have to work in factories for very low pay, just because there is no other options. In America this is not the case, here we could work where ever we desire, with the right education of course. Religion, religion is a big one. In many counties what, or whom you worship is controlled by the government.…
I was born and raised here in the United States. Therefore, I have been part of a generation that has experienced both the good and the bad. When I was younger, I always thought America was the greatest country in the world. I was so proud to be born and raised in the United States. I remember learning about 9/11 every year, watching Barack Obama become our first African-American President, and learning about the many tragedies our nation has faced along these past few years. Being an American and witnessing so many events unfold these past few years has made me feel both happy and upset with how our nation has evolved. The United States is filled with so much pop culture and technology and…
America is a good place to live. Here is some reason why. We have resources that other countries don’t. We have the freedom to go places, that other countries don’t allow. We have a good water supply in our country. We have the Freedom Of Speech meaning we are allowed to say whatever we want.…
America. The greatest country in the world, or so we thought. The current state of the country isn’t the best, as it has it’s pros and cons, yet it isn’t horrible. We have many things going for us, such as our strong military, our booming economy, and our relatively low unemployment rate. But we also have a negative side, which includes our national debt, high costing health insurance, and the large taxes we have to pay. Overall, there is some bad with the good, and vice versa.…
