Every company has its strengths and weaknesses, including Arby’s. Arby’s was founded in 1964, in Boardman, Ohio1. Since then, they have been one of the premier sandwich restaurants in the United States and Canada. One of Kingsford’s greatest weaknesses was decreasing advertising over the years and not raising prices to stay competitive with Royal Oak and other private brands, which narrowed the price gap between competitors and lead to decreased brand awareness. Kingsford is also seen as a seasonal product with nearly 60 percent of purchases happening between May and September, which is limiting for sales volume throughout the year. The grilling industry is also heavily dependent on good weather, and bad weather can directly affect its’ sales. Kingsford is particularly vulnerable because it is heavily reliant on displays and promotional items to remind people it’s a beautiful day to grill. “Our job is to make Kingsford visible and let the weather do the work,” says Allison Warren, brand manager who recalls a quote from a sales team member. Kingsford is also heavily reliant on retailers for promotions and in-store displays, and isn’t spending enough on media advertising to maintain brand awareness. In terms of opportunities, Kingsford is seen as the leader in the charcoal category, and it has already established valuable brand equity in the charcoal market. If it re-establishes an advertising campaign, it…

The company launched with a single restaurant in the Washington, DC area in the 1980s and expanded conservatively through the use of 100% company owned outlets until very recently. The family that owns Five Guys was concerned that they could not maintain a high level of customer experience if they were to expand too far or to move into franchising. Ultimately, they did make the move but have worked very hard to ensure excellence in every one of their restaurants whether company owned or franchised.…

Albeit A.1. Steak sauce has generated phenomenal profit margins with Kraft and has 46% of the steak sauce market locked up, it does not mean that this top condiment cannot be challenged by other competitor products. Additionally, this is precisely what happened; Lawry’s decided to get the jump on Kraft and launch their product on 1 April. Not thoroughly prepared to deal with this sudden “earth shattering” news(or so it seemed), Kraft has to definitively make brash decisions as to how to deal this situation while also facing profit loses with other product lines. Effectively, all of the designated managers/executives must develop a comprehensible marketing plan to keep their ad for positioning at Publix to appeal to their consumers during the beginning of “grilling” season (Kerin & Peterson, 2010).…

I find writing a very neutral subject because I am not terrible nor excellent at it. I have always written enough for it to be satisfactory. Therefore, I believe that one of my strengths as a writer is being able to understand what I have to write about and knowing what I want to say. I question myself every step of the way, asking myself “ Is what I am writing, answering the topic that I am addressing?” However, with that said, I believe that my weakness lies in that fact that I cannot put my thoughts into words. I have a vast amount of ideas that never get a chance to come alive on paper. I feel that I am not very good at transitions and sentence structures. Another weakness is that it takes me an awful long…
