I had not heard or read before, that Christopher Columbus was imprisoned for his crimes and treatment of the Spaniards in his colony, and lost many of his titles and his wealth. There certainly were a lot of myths that were created by posterity in regards to Columbus, from the one I once read that said that scientists and navigators of his time believed that the Earth was flat or even square, when in fact, it was Columbus that was wrong about the Earth, and thought it far smaller than it was.
