At the level of the human species as a whole, the most striking aspect of the period from 1400 to 1800 was the enormous extension of networks of communication and exchange that linked individuals and societies more and more tightly. Every region of the world became connected to every other region, but also how much war and conflict had some force in that as well. It is important to learn from our history and draw the right conclusions from our past. As George Steiner once said, “Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and archive mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement, against that past.” (Web) However, while each historical era may mirror itself on the past, we can’t assume that what we are facing today is exactly the same as what we have faced previously. One of the biggest similarities between the 1970s and the 2000’s in the United States is that our troops are overseas fighting a war. In the early 1970’s, the U.S. was at war in Vietnam and today we are at war in Afghanistan. Some people will say that these wars were both battles that the U.S. should not be involved in while others will look at the opposite side and say that we are there for good reasons. While there are similarities for each war, there are also differences, both sides of which should be examined.…

Immigration to the United States of America has been an ongoing process since colonizing America. The changing pattern of immigration has varied throughout the last century. These changes were brought on by new immigration laws, political, economical, and demographic pressures. The most profound changes in immigration patterns occurred after the Immigration Law Reform in 1965 resulting in immigration from countries that did not send immigrants before, and a dramatic increase of immigrants from previous sending countries. For example Europe, which accounted for two-thirds of legal immigrants in the 1950s, added only 15 percent in the 1980s.…

Within today’s society, people are constantly open to new technological and intellectual improvements, but when it comes to any disruptive alteration in the life that American citizens know, love, and are accustomed to, no measures can be taken in order to implement new innovations, even if it were for the welfare of the people themselves. The majority of the society today is resistant to great shifts in the American culture that would possibly cause some differentiation to their life that is currently flourishing, including shifts towards the acceptance of same-sex marriage, the widespread dissolution of extremely unhealthy fast food chains, and surprisingly, the elimination of racial, gender, and religious discrimination and profiling that long exists in today’s culture.…

For the fast food industry I personally would say is not all this seven headed monster, I would say it comes with its various benefits and at the same time its various disadvantages and bad points.…
