Parents always expect from their children love, respect and help. I think these qualities remain unchanged. However, at old times parents expected from their daughter to be a good and practical woman because in this case she can marry a good and perspective man. Nowadays, I think parents' expectations from their daughter have changed. Now a woman has the same rights and opportunities to make a great career, make money and be successful at equal terms with a man. It means that now parents are not so worried about a future perspective husband. They know that their daughter can take care of herself and be happy. Nowadays parents teach their daughter to believe in herself, be motivated and strong. They want to be proud of her.
As for a son, I think expectations remain the same. Parents see their son as a clever, motivated and successful man.
To sum up, parents wish their children be more successful then themselves, achieve more goals. So, they with great patience pass down their knowledge and experience to their children. They teach them only good things and expect respect and love in return. Also, parents try to teach their children how to avoid mistakes they have made in their lives. I think the main quality of a good son or daughter is to make their parents proud.

“Son? What son?” In todays decade there is surprisingly a substantial amount of individuals having children without even realizing it. Although optimism and rationalism are essential idealisms in todays’ world, families were indeed much more united in the past, rather than how they are today. In the 50’s for instance, some say families tended to spend more time together. In the article “What we really miss about the 50’s” author Stephanie Coonts explained how times have changed. “Many families found it possible to put together a good imitation of a way of living, in the 1950s’ and the 1960’s. Couples were often able to construct marriages that were much more harmonious, than…

To be a father is not hard, but rather to act like a father needs time to demonstrate that. The father is the main source of income and dominant provider of the family. He settles on the significant family choices together with mother and with the assistance of different individuals. This is the customary part of the father. Fathers and moms have novel contrasts that make them have distinctive child rearing parts, that when joined, give the most far reaching model to help the child grow effectively. Consequently, kids require both parents to help them build up the skills to help them assemble fruitful social relations, take part in dependable conduct, build up the confidence and abilities to be effective in school and to wind up…

Parenting is a big part of every ones lives; it makes up who you are as a person and in many cases projects who you will be in the future. Some adults have trouble manipulating their children and teaching them what is right from wrong, while others have a much easier time doing so. In my opinion there is no such thing as “the perfect parent”, both the mother and the father have their flaws, but what matters is that the parent is always there for personal support. To me a good parent is someone who is always there to support there children in both good and bad terms, and a responsible adult that can supply for their kids necessities, not necessarily all the luxuries that they want. Another key point to being a good parent is to be a good leader, all kids look up to their parents and most of the time follow their parents footsteps and part of being a good leader is being a hard worker. A parent that is supportive, responsible, and a leader and hard worker all make up to be a great parent in my opinion. In the stories Scar by Amy Tan, My Fathers Hands by Daisy Hernandez, and the poems Those Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden, No Longer a Teenager by Gerald Locklin all tie up to the universal theme of good parenting. Even though some characters in the story struggle to be the perfect parent they desire to be, some are successful in doing so while others just cannot do their duty.…

In my opinion, parents are the most effective and influential role models in the lives of their children. The youth of society can learn from, and aspire to be like their parents as they are being reared in their childhood years. Fathers and mothers strive to teach their children important values and beliefs as well as demonstrate attitudes and behaviors considered appropriate and beneficial for society’s well being. Parents strive to ensure that their children are successful in their efforts, both personally and socially. They stand tall, maintaining positive and nurturing attitudes. Good parents with effective parenting skills continually create important, life lessons because they understand, that as youth, children look to them for guidance. Parents pave the way for young people to build a bright future. They teach skills to their children so that they are able to sustain themselves in today’s society and progress. Children are society’s hope for a better future, for a thriving living environment in the world, and for inspiring the forward progression of the human race. There is no doubt that mothers and fathers are prime examples of effective role models.…
