What Are The Positive And Negative Effects Of The American Industrial Revolution
The American Industrial Revolution was a time of growth. Starting from the early 1800s the way of life started to slowly progress.There were many types of growth including economic,population,and agriculture. It had many positives and negatives ,but the positives overshadowed the negatives. There were also things that were both positive and negative throughout the Industrial Revolution. During the Industrial Revolution there were many positive changes happening. Factories were being built which meant more jobs for people. The more jobs that came the population grew. People were leaving their life in the country for a factory job in the city. New inventions were being made to help people in everyday life. The invention of the
first car made by Henry Ford improved transportation ,but only for people who could afford it. Growth in agriculture needed inventions like the Cotton GIn made by Eli Whitney. It made getting cotton easier.Cotton is a resource needed for clothing and many other things. The new machines being made helped with the growth of the resources. The invention of the car,more resources,growth of factories,population all contributed to that. The overall quality of life became better. Although it may seem that everything was good in the Industrial Revolution, it was not. Population growth was a negative thing. Tenements which are low quality buildings were made for workers and their families. The tenements were overpopulated and people were getting sick. Even though there were more jobs the working conditions were poor. People were not getting paid much either. Cars made the air more polluted and the factories added to that. There was child labor which is unfair because they were getting paid no more than 25 cents. Overall the Industrial Revolution did make changes for the better.
