Imperialism: the act of extending a nations power by territorial acquisitions or by indirectly gaining control of their political or economic life. Although the connotation of imperialism is evident, its root cause is frequently construed. During the 1890s- 1910 the imperialistic acts that took place were a result of greed; there is adequate evidence, to support this claim.
